Registering a SL350 in California

ok so here is what i got.

PO gave me a bill of sale so i went to the dmv to ask some questions, and they said they have no record of the bike at all and will have to get a chp inspection. +1 for me. My question is, What does the chp look for? Will i have to wire up and run turn signals, even though the bike never had them?

Has anyone registered a "vintage enduro"?

also, i kinda got carried away when i purchased the bike and started doing modifications to it. detabbing and what not. Does the bike have to look stock for the chp to let it fly?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

I have registered 2 bikes that were not in the system thus far. Both times the DMV did a VIN inspection and that was all I needed. I paid the money and was registered. I even got the plate right then.

This isn't from experience, but from what I've picked up from conversations with other riders.

If they even ask to inspect your bike, it should only need the basics of a bike, and doesn't need to be completed, stock or running. The essentials should be there like tank, engine and tires. Otherwise, I think they're only looking for your vin and your money.

Had CHP look at my CL350 before i could register it as well.

They verify frame VIN and engine VIN, write it down, and now you can title it. My bike didnt run, and barely rolled when i brought it to the CHP in the bed of a pickup truck.
Went to AAA right after and had plates in 15 minutes.
