It's got to be a great feeling when James May opens your letter and immediately knows who you are. BIG TIME ICHIBAN, big time. Send him a shirt, maybe he will wear it on next season's The Grand Tour.

I think next season's Grand Tour is a long-shot (unless it's already been confirmed?). Just watched the Vietnam special. It was OK, but it's hard to imagine them continuing with a 4-specials per series format.

The whole thing is getting a bit tired - same gags, same innuendo, same Clarkson being an out of touch old man, Hamster being the big-displacement Mustang loving daredevil and James May being the one we all secretly relate to, shunning the others.

Constantly having the 'locals' slog through the muck to get them out of trouble, the big fat old white guy in his $200,000 recreation of a US military boat taking literal dumps in the Mekong river, the few genuinely interesting yet superficial historic tangents and Hammond in his Hulk Hogan Scarab with May in his antique wood boat?

Their best days in this format are long behind them.

I tried to watch the special and its f'ing blocked in Canada. I need to get my VPN back up to watch on the PC.

Great review of the first show and I agree with all you said.
I'm not sure many Americans were exposed to Top Gear and may find it "refreshing", GAG. And they certainly still love gas sucking pigs in all forms so it may still have legs. It'll be interesting to see.

I've watched it on my Amazon Prime sub in Canada - is that how you're watching?
I have an amazon usa prime and it always worked before but now it says Im traveling and the show is not available where I am. Prime isnt worth shit in canada so I onlt have it on .com. ill put rhe vpn back on. I just had it turned off for an update.

I was watching the new Alan Milyard video on constructing a 4 cyl Kawi 2 stroke and saw he has an Ichiban Moto sticker up in his shop.
I love my stickers.
