Piece on the left plus another 2x6 piece to add to it to make it wide enough. Will be the mantle for the fireplace surround.

Very nice! Will look great! By the way here is Franklin's actual quote about wine “Behold the rain which descends from heaven upon our vineyards, and which incorporates itself with the grapes to be changed into wine; a constant proof that God loves us, and loves to see us happy!” He did not like beer and somehow that beer quote has been attributed to both him and Jefferson. Franklin is a ggggUncle on my Mother's side.

Thanks, I've changed it back and forth between the 2 over the years, gave up trying to make the right person responsible for the quote LOL. I love beer so I like the quote whomever said it.

77 KZ750B twin. All there and supposedly runs - although the smell of the gas tells me that is not the case just yet. When it is not in the teens out we will start the usual procedures of defunkifying.

jesus, those things were belted with the ugly stick from birth weren't they, those side panels................

You could say that for sure. Did you know there are clubs for these things. Planning a scrambler/enduro facelift for the old girl. Something like Sebastian from oneyeeder did here. I have fenders from an XL185, and 5" longer forks from a KZ1000. If anyone wants a crash bar for their own it is already off and cleaned up nice.

Looks amazing!
Was kinda hoping someone started repro'ing them though :p
Actually 2 summers back there was a repop version for sale on eBay. From 2 different sellers in the UK. But haven't seen any since they sold. Not quite identical to OEM the repops weren't as graceful a design but about half the price, included linkage and all.

A most excellent looking machine you have created, proportions are spot on and you made the side panels look good too
.....there is life after being an ugly duckling :)

Here's my Honda effort along the same lines.
