Just brought in a new vapor blast/vapor hone machine:

Pete12, does Phil Pilgrim of Union Jack motorcycles still do vapor blasting? Not the same as doing it yourself, but might be cheaper. I remember he paid a fortune to install that equipment many years ago.

Not sure Teazer, I don't know him but ex Aussie M-X star Anthony Gunter is a good mate and lives near me and he has one, but I'd just like my own.... maybe Santa will be kind to me.

union jack m/c has been gone for years, its been a cafe for quite some time, not sure where phil is now

I know, but he kept the vapor blast machine and moved it to his garage/home workshop IIRC.

The site is still up but I haven't seen Phil for many years. Worth checking him out if you are down that way.

Was down in Louisiana for Christmas. Picked up a 5'x10' utility trailer. Has a hell of a motorcycle chock on it to boot.

Had planned to bring a bike back on it, but the chap that had the Ducati I wanted couldn't get our schedules aligned.

Should be a bit easier than lugging around the other trailer anyhow.

Pete, I will bet you could fab one up. I made a small soda blast cabinet out of a small CNC machine case I fished out of the trash. It rocks for carbs or other aluminum parts. I think soda is a close second to vapor blasting for surface finish and quality, and the cost is pretty reasonable for the DIY'er. I am going to try the Home Brew vibratory tumbler next.

Got an new tool boxes! However I am going to be getting rid of the small cart and using that money to upgrade to another bigger 44 inch. That way I will have 2 44 inch boxes and a bigger work surface.

Hi Snout, I had a small soda blaster and liked it, but I would really rather have a vapour blaster instead. I will have a look at making one myself though, thanks.

I'd like to see how you do this.

Will you post it when it's completed?

New 10 liter 240 Watt US cleaner. Hope it will hold up fairly well. Since I only do 1 - 2 racks of GL1000 carbs a year, should last me a while. It will hold 2 carbs still joined by the "garnish", so I don't have to reassemble the choke and throttle controls.

77 KZ750B twin. All there and supposedly runs - although the smell of the gas tells me that is not the case just yet. When it is not in the teens out we will start the usual procedures of defunkifying.

Check out the 1980 kz750G side covers. Big improvement. Also kz1000 forks of the same year are the same length as the twins. Same forks Just different valving.
