Show me your wiring for DOHC HONDA

Interested in custom wiring only, but specifically interested to see what you all are using for starter relay/solenoids. I’m looking to tidy up my own

I have never owned a 750 dohc but I know the Honda starter solenoids with the 4 pins and built in fuse are handy to use to simplify your wiring

Got a pic? The dohc already comes with what I thought was a simple starter solenoid and integrated fuse. Not sure if you are talking about the same one or not.

Think he's talking about the aftermarket variety with a blade type removable fuse.

It’s a simple solenoid. Just wondering if anyone has found anything better. The cheap replacements suck too.

what’s wrong with a simple solenoid? They work well on pretty much every thing with a electric start so why change it ?

I’m not too keen on these crappy made deals I keep getting online. Who makes a well made one? Or is there any pre-wired options? The one I have on there I changed out a couple years ago, it’s looking rough. I need to rewire everything anyway, just looking for something that looks clean. This thing is flopping around everywhere.

I think its easier to come up with a good solution to hide the solenoid over finding a good alternative to it.

There isnt, like, a solid state replacement or anything like that which would be smaller or cleaner

So, the Chinabay solenoids are cheap and easy to replace. Why not use them and replace every few years as regular maintenance? Even the originals get erroded contacts from arcing.

The cheap china stick on and keep the starter turing until you can kill the engine. they suck suck suck suck.

They suck big time. I had one just melt down for some reason. I think I found a pretty good option over at revival cycle

The revival cycles unit is a good one, but I don't like the connector on them.

Going through the honda wiring again. I originally did it to get me by, and it has. I need to go back and do it right. I’m redoing the headlight and cockpit. And redoing the lighting situation. I’m about to order a pair of your fog lights as well. Alabama has some nasty dark backroads.

Do you offer any switch relays for lights? Or do you have any advice for them? Do you even need them for LEDs?

It’s funny we were talking about it..... went to start my bike and “click” couple of whacks, “click”.

I pulled it apart to get a look inside. Got in some nasty weather several times with this one. It’s been on for less than a year.

Yep. They don't like being under water. Even the solenoid on our boat (designed for boats) failed when submerged.
