?

I wouldn't bother powder coating the wheels. Just paint them. My GL1800 wheels were powder coated, and I have to touch them up every year with model car paint and brush.

I understand. I rarely get comments either. I finally quit (mostly) worrying about it and just post anyway. If nothing else I'm able to go back and review things I've done, remember what I was thinking at the time, and cringe at my first (and second and third) attempts! If there aren't posted comments at least there's no criticism!
Yeah, you're right...I do post as I like the record...and revisiting earlier posts can be revealing haha!

Ah...so not a durable as is widely thought? I just might spray them myself, but have them blasted beforehand. I was rethinking the wheel colour anyway.....;)

I post when I have updates....but get so very little/zero response....is it the boring posts or no one interested in replying? I wonder why I bother sometimes.....but plod on in true British spirit...:)

Project Suzonda is rumbling along, slowly but surely ( see my update post in this forum) as I have lost my mojo a bit tbh.
The engine is with my bike engineer neighbour for a rebuild so that's a positive, I'm sure when that's done it will kickstart my enthusiasm to carry on. I'm ever so close to nailing the rear end on, front is pretty close to complete, just guard and longer brake line to caliper, tyre change, powder-coat wheels, paint caliper etc....nearly there innit?

Every aspect is very nearly there...but having to make each part 'fit' is a much bigger job than I first thought.

So apart from the obvious tank, what else is Honda?

Well this year has turned out shite ! Read what I wrote in february of all the things I was looking forward to, and the opposite is what has actually happened.
Just one tiny bright glimmer of positivity....the seat unit that went to the painters for a repaint, and got "locked down", has returned and my bike is again whole. I fitted the refurb'ed item yesterday, and washed off the copious amounts of ACF50 I had liberally coated the bike with, to fend off the ravages of winter.....and then, fired it up. The motobat battery still lit everything brightly when I turned the key, and the motor crackled into life after four prods of the kicker....albeit on just one pot. Straight inside to find my lid, and a quick rip around the block to get it firing on both. 50 yards, and number 2 chimed in, and a brisk squirt through the village until it cleared it's throat was in order. Wow...this bike is rapid...despite owning a 150 hp R1, the old T500 never ceases to surprise and please. I never get off this bike thinking it's slow...cos it isn't. Twist the throttle to the stop, and it pulls like a train, the front wheel skipping over the tarmac....it's bloody lively. What's more it handles so well...I'd forgotten just how sorted I got this bike when I rebuilt it. I love it. The crackle from the chambers is bloody awesome, and I had forgotten just how great it is......I've owned this 500 since 1977 when I was just 19, and I will never be selling it. No amount of money would prize it from my grasp.
