Good lookin KLR!
They are hard to beat, I still miss mine even with the F800GS and a DR650 in the stable.
There's just something about a KLR that's hard to not love (and hate at the same time lol)

Welcome to the fold, good sir. Nice Lexx on the there too. Love mine, and apart from the fact it got smoked the other day by an idiot backing up into it and now has a dented tank and busted clutch, my KLR has never missed a beat. You'll be glad you did. If you get bored over the winter and have a few bucks burning a hole in your back pocket, bore the thing out and chuck a lighter piston in there. Mine has almost no vibration at all now, smooth as a freshly-buttered bannister.
 
Since discovering SE Bikes was still around making udpated larger versions of their iconic lust worthy PK Ripper / Quadangle bikes of my youth in the 1980's, and seeing the meet-ups centered around the bikes, I developed a bit of an itch. So I scratched it.

'Big Ripper' of unknown year, but likely 2-3 years old with a few upgrades. Who knew they make hydraulic disc brakes for bicycles!?!

That's a cool bike! I have seen people buying those recently just for around town cruising and riding wheelies.
Disc brakes have been around for a little while on bicycles I think, all my most recent mountain bikes in the past 5 years have had them and they work REALLY well.

Disc brakes for sure, but these are hydraulic - little master cylinder on the lever. But I'm sure they've been around for years too - just hadn't seen them myself until I started down this path of buying a newer bike.

Hope brand hydraulic disk brakes have been around for at least 20 years, fabulous performance for downhill mountain bikes.
 
Yeah, Tim. Hydraulic disc brakes gained popularity when the down hill scene hit, probably as early as the mid 90 really. The tech has gotten cheaper and better since.

I saw my first set around the end of 91 or early 92. I was heavily into mountain biking. After buying several factory built bikes, I built my own. I was floored when one of the vendors asked me if I had considered hydraulic disc brakes.
 
Picked up a little Nostalgia off ebay...

I didn't do too bad today. I found a Joe Rocket Alter Ego 4.1 riding jacket set for $20 at a second-hand store. It's in new condition and I can't find any sign that it's been worn much, if at all. The Alter Ego 4.1 is a three piece system that consists of a waterproof outer ballistics jacket, a zip-in mesh jacket with elbow and shoulder armor, and a wind/thermal liner that zips into the mesh jacket. It's a size XL and I normally wear a L, but this one fits just right. It has well thought out pockets and vents and is reflective all around. They make it in a black/black, red/black, gray/black (like mine), and hi-viz yellow/black. If I were buying one off the shelf I would have gotten the red or hi-viz, but I'll be ok w/ the gray/black. (I've got two other mesh jackets that I'll be putting up for sale on here later today.)

New compressor. Still need to assemble and set up the blasting cabinet I also got.

Joining Matt in the "real compressor club". It's definitely not the worst $30 I've ever spent. 6.5 h.p. 220v single phase. Hole in the bottom, p.o. tried to fix with j.b. weld. I was given another larger compressor and tank (less a motor) a couple years back, and I haven't decided If I'll swap everything to the bigger tank or if I'll just weld up the hole and repair it the right way.
