Turn signal issue

Hello, hoping someone can assist with an issue I’m having with my bike.
Everything was running fine until I decided to add a license plate light on my 81 Suzuki GS650E. My LED turn signals will turn off when I switch my headlight on, cluster signal light will stay solid. When I switch my headlight off the turn signals will flash like normal. This issue happens with the bike is on ignition but what’s weird is that when the bike is running everything works as normal. Headlight and turn signals are fine. Battery fully charged just happens only on ignition. It was working fine a day ago.

so in short..

Bike only on ignition:
Turn signals don’t work when headlight is switch on.

Bike running:
Everything works as normal.

I have experienced this before (70's cb's) , the cure for me was cleaning electrical connections in the turn signal circuit including grounds. On another bike with the same issue, switching to a 2-wire electronic flasher from autozone fixed the problem. I'm guessing the old flasher depended on enough load or current going through it to make it flash, and without the extra push from the charging system there insn't enough juice available to overcome system resistance. That's just an opinion with no measurements to back it up...when the signals worked again I quit fixing it!

Bike had an upgraded flasher relay when the leds signals were added and it worked perfectly.

I disconnected the licence plate lights just to check if it will fix the issue but with no success :(

I’ll recheck and clean the wires as suggested and recharge the battery

Thanks mate. Solved the issue by replacing the flasher relay. All works as normal now :)
