Post a pic of your latest purchase

That's awfully close to my first bike with a Villiers 225cc 1H motor. And I'm not so sure I want to remember that....

I bought a new hjc rpha 11 pro helmet $302, and some Alpinestars mid length gloves. I got sick of black so I got some color!

@Hurco550 and I went for a short drive today, really short, only a few blocks, and came home w/ a 1975 BMW R90/6. Just a bit under 43,000 miles and hasn't been registered or run for many years. I bought it from a friend of mine who was the second owner. There are faithful dealer maintenance records annotated up through 35,000 miles in July 1984. It's all there plus a real S fairing and mounts, Progressive fork springs, a full trio of Wixom bags and a Vetter-style monster fairing (complete w/ AM/FM/Cassette radio) that I'll NOT be using.

I'll start a thread, it's going to need all seals and gaskets replaced, massive clean-up, carbs rebuilt, and tires. Let the fun begin!

Needs an R90X big brake kit too :)

Yeah, Levi and I were talking about that.

I spent a few minutes doing some clean up in patches this morning and there is lots of it that is going to clean up with medial epicondyle lubricant. It's looking like this is going to be a patina machine.

Id say your long over due for a build thread....

WOW! It's like a Time Machine! I'll bet the tank and fenders are going to clean up gorgeous. Black bikes are the very reason for wax! Bike looks so much better without the extras. Congrats!

No worries. I don't intend to take it down completely, but that'll get done for sure.

Yesterday it was this

It's been sitting for about 20 years so needs some work, but nothing major I know of. Yet.

Today it was this

Still waiting on some parts for it but it's finally here!

Ordered a couple of things for the DRZ - really enjoying it exploring up around the cabin so I'm investing a bit more to make it more of an adventure bike.

Adventure Spec Mini Fairing which is kind of interesting. Nylon brackets with a steel or aluminum plate to hold various things. Comes with an AMPS standard mounting bracket for GPS and other units. I'll probably just drill the right spec holes into the primary plate to keep the Garmin close to it.

I ordered without the plastic windscreen as I'm using a different screen on the DRZ which is the other item ordered - a Parabellum Rally windscreen in clear.

Also recently added a 1 gallon Rotopax for water to balance out the 1 gallon fuel container the DRZ came with when I bought it a few years back.

Not MC related, but that's ok. I've been keeping eyes and ears open for a 3/4 ton truck. I really like the Tundra and it's been a great truck but it JUST handles the 5th wheel safely and I wouldn't be comfortable dragging it up or down much of a grade. Being right at my weight max I've been very careful with trip planning so that I don't over tax the equipment. So far things have been good but we want to go farther and longer in the future so more truck was necessary. The search for something suitable has been long and discouraging. The things are so well-built any more that there aren't many out there on the market and when likely candidates come up they are either extremely expensive and/or high mileage. I can't tell you how many I've seen that look great... and have over 200k miles!

Last Thursday we had to make a run over to the next town over (home of the esteemed @Hurco550!) and saw this one by the road w/ a For Sale sign. I called him the next morning and by 10:00am cash and keys had exchanged hands.

2011 GMC Sierra 2500HD, 6.0L gasoline, six-speed, trailer tow package, bed liner, tonneau cover, & a nearly perfect interior. <53,000 miles, new tires, & brakes. I would have preferred a two wheel drive but those are almost impossible to find so a 4x4 will work fine. The price was excellent so I had to jump. It'll stay home because there wasn't time to fit up a 5th wheel hitch. When we get home this will get the hitch and the beloved Tundra will go up for sale.

Really nice catch, Sierra is really nice, especially if you're planning to do some off-roading. You might not like 4x4 right now, but trust me. Also sub 53k miles sounds like awfully low :D

I appreciate the comment but, honestly, off-roading w/ a three ton, street-tired truck? I have been a driver for over 50 years in all conditions and climates, I know better than even attempt such foolishness . My needs are comfort and towing capacity at the best economy comfort, and safety. A 2X4 has a higher towing capacity by nearly 500#. It'll ride better, wear tires better, cost less to maintain and drive, and, generally, be a far better vehicle for my needs. It isn't that I don't LIKE 4X4 it's that I don't NEED one. The last 4X4 I owned was off-road a bunch... in it's gravel parking spot. Sorry, don't mean to sound like the grumpy, old fart yelling, "Get off my lawn!"
