Yamaha DT2 Build - Smoke if you got 'em...

kept the ignition stator stock because it is full wave ac and works well. the headlight stator got ungrounded. I rectified the lighting coil 2 phase full wave. the 6v to12v conversion happens at the regulator. was able to run the stock headlight, stock horn, led tail and turn battery less with a...

Yamaha DT2 Build - Smoke if you got 'em...

thats a common offroad setup. not just polaris, many dirtbikes and quads run ac lighting. the 2 wire ac regulator is a voltage clipper. I don't run this way because led's don't run ac. mark on the 2 stroke forum does. my kdx ran this way stock. rectified to half wave dc, regulated with a shunt...

Yamaha DT2 Build - Smoke if you got 'em...

did that stator. kept the ac ignition because its stupid simple and I can run without a battery. ungrounded the headlight stator and ran 2 phase full wave for the lights and horn. did not need to use the tail stator with the taps. removed it.

    Dirtbag Challenge cb360

these pics taken at idle with no battery. could not figure out how to imbed a slideshow but the signals work perfectly. exactly I didn't rewire this antique in a modern way with an sql40a rectifer 3 phase rectifier, nor did I make the shunt regulator. exactly I won't post any more. do not...

    please welcome me

we still used vacuum tubes in the early '70's "This was a common approach for early Japanese motorcycles because voltage regulation technology still had a ways to go" can't help it if I'm modern. glad you are having fun at my expense

"That said, you can install a three phase regulator/rectifier on a Honda twin (and the Suzukis, too) with no ill effect." whatever, some know and you don't do I have to spoon feed. I'm talking about a full rewire to 3 phase so you get maximium charging all the times. that manual was written...

yes, I was right about this place. politics above truth. You have to be trolling, but we can't have a bunch of false information spread on the forum either. Someone might actually believe you're smart and that you know what you're talking about. whatever, some know otherwise.

    1966 YL1 Rings Replacement

I would buy a piston kit and replace both piston upper bearing and rings. this is normal for a 2 stroke for these parts wear. when you get them out you need to measure the pistons and check them. the pistons will be stamped on the dome if they are oversize. you do not have to remove the engine...

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

thanks for letting people here that I'm not a crack head troll. I've ran over a thousand miles with a 3 phase rec/reg without issue. I never got the stock harness, it was ripped out by the same dude who bobbed it. I just rewired ac with a 3 phase bridge rectifier and regulated it.

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

its a stupid translation from Chinese to English on the net not fact. 3 ac stator wires means 3 phase by definition. there is a reason this thread has been sitting since 2013. no point to argue with nonsense. I obviously did not use a 3 phase bridge rectifier to convert AC to DC on my honda...

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

I'm not wrong because I designed my rec/reg myself. I'm legal inspected with lights snd signals and running without a battery on a cb360. so what are the wires in my stator pic? I've been lurking here for years. I read the stator post. didn't he change the guage of the wire to increase the...

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

you guys are fucked up. the regulator is one phase the rectifier is 3. each ac stator wire needs to be rectified. after its converted to dc its only 1 phase. like I said before when Sonreir says I'm a troll I'll leave.

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

there is no point to argue. I went to grad school and I know different. there are lots of members here. some know what I'm saying. this quote is from electrical 101 on this site Rectifier - Most everything on your bike is designed to only use DC voltages and so the rectifier exists to convert...

    Honda CL350 Stator and REG/REC

this is how screwed up you are. black is + on the dohc 750 rec/reg not on the honda twin. tell me what they are then. tell me how its wired different than the generator pic you posted. tell me how ignition is wired to a rec/reg. you are telling me that ac does not come out of each wire. the...
