Just try mount it a little closer to the rider ,then you can angle it up some more.

whit the charging system of a motorbike i find it a must to have some sort of balancing of the cells.
the lifeP04 batteries crank out massive amps-i use a 2Ah battery on my fzr1000 build and it workes great-it has built in balancing and i use a lifeP04 spesial charger at the garage.

I mount plain bearings/cam and parts with a mix of Motul 300Vmotor oil, Kent camlube and molybdendisulfide grease, mixed to a thick slowly sagging "goo"

What about air filter? my XL600 stops dead in its tracks at 5000rpm WOT with those popular steelmesh-podfilters.replaced them w longer runners with foamfilter on end-7500rpm clean..
Try removing the airfilter/snorkel.
