Just noticed you had the same long ears, but I guess you're using them for turn signals. Did you just drill out the rivets to get the front brace out?

How's it ride with no fender and that Firestone up front? CB750 forks require a fork brace or the legs shift in turns. That's why I haven't lost my front fender yet (although I'm thinking of running just a black brace in the summer.)

So here's what I came up with. The generic ears were super long, so I made some cardboard templates and test fitted the headlight to the forks. Then I used an angle grinder (the big kind, not the nifty air-type) and drill and several hours of shaping and cutting 2 inches off later...

@PHeller I thought about the bottom mount option, but this one was a royal pain to get working correctly, so I feel attached to it ;)

@PHeller Yeah, the ears were thrown on there as an afterthought when I went to the smaller headlight. I just picked up some of these: With plans to redrill them to pull in the headlight close like a proper Japanese bobber:
