once together, spin it slowly by hand and listen closely. This can eliminate most engine destroying mistakes

    Splitting CB750 case - GLUED TOGETHER !@!

have you turned it upside down, blocked it for support and tapped the case studs (with a nut covering the end to protect the threads) while gently lifting the bottom half of the case (now facing up)? On the stubborn ones, it might be helpful to have someone else take the weight off of the top...

Thanks. What did you use for sealant? Threebond? Spray on copper coat?

    Caswell Tank Sealer

I've heard only good things about their kits. I love their suggestions for other uses too. Supposedly its a lot thicker and more durable than por15, kreem and others and it dries fast (cures really). Supposed to be impervious to ethanol too, unlike the others.

    Tools/supplies/what do I need

get a "thread repair kit" instead. much more useful unless you are tapping NEW threads. Its designed to follow and clean existing threads without as much risk of re-cutting right over them

    360 clutch slip high rpm

make sure the clutch lifter is adjusted properly. You can try bead blasting the plates too. I've had great results doing this and without resorting heavy springs. I bought a Kawasaki H2 with heavy springs and the heavy pull got old quick...

Copper head gaskets - any thoughts?

I am interested in giving one a try for my cb750. The regular type "require" being re-torqued after 1000 or so miles, or once it starts leaking again. In the interest of not having to remove the engine mid season just to re-torque the head, I wanted to give a copper gasket a try this winter...

    plain jane

gotta ask - how does the copper head gasket work? I've been debating using them since it should eliminate the need to re-torque in 1000 miles. It's no fun pulling the engine on my cb750 just to re-torque the head. I know I should anneal it with a torch, but do you use the copper spray as well...

first time engine build and just about to close up the case...any advice?

I would highly recommend a "Thread repair kit" over a tap and die kit. They have a slightly different design. They are meant to follow and clean existing threads instead of cut new ones. Much more useful unless you are machining new parts

    Master Cylinder Explanation

what does the caliper look like? I hope you've taken that apart as well. Might as well clean it out and replace the seal for 5$ while you're at it. Usually the old pistons are all rusted and the seals are petrified. Get a braided stainless brake line for 25$ too. Somewhere I heard the old...
