    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

Thanks man. I wound up "figuring out" the issue, or just adjusting stuff until it went away. I went for just going for proper clutch feel. I then road around the neighborhood with for about 1 mile's worth of riding, up-shifting and downshifting regularly and got the clutch unstuck and working...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

I haven't updated this build log in a few weeks because I was so pumped to nearly be complete, that I wanted to hold out more posts until a grand unveiling. I'll do another post on the battery issue I ran into and the new headlight bucket, but focus this mainly on the clutch issues I've been...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

I also installed a new 530H gold chain on the bike, borrowing a friend's RK chain tool. the damn chain is the shiniest thing on the bike. Since a surprisingly high amount of people I know with bikes don't even know how to cut/rivet a new chain, I put together a youtube video on how to use...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

I've left this thread die again, so here I am reviving it. I've been putting in major go-time on the build and normally forget to take pictures for this thread or my blog. In the past few weeks I've done the following: Upgraded the generic EMGO pod filters for <a...

    Replacing cables?

You can also try routing them through the longest path possible (without making any ridiculous bends of course). You might be able to take up the extra 6 or so inches you've dropped your bars by just routing them to the far side of your frame and back, or a big crossover beneath your top triple...

Shops around LA/Orange County/Laguna Beach Area

I'm staying in Laguna Beach for a couple weddings for the next week. Anybody have any recommendations on anything moto-related, shops, bars, or restaurants to check out in the area? I've only been there once for a total of 36 hours to attend a conference in Anaheim. Other than that, sorta flying...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

Finally got a chance to have a buddy swing by and give me a hand mounting the engine back on the frame. Using a broomstick strung through the top of the head makes it super easy allowing someone to stand on the right side of the bike guiding the engine in, while still supporting the weight! I...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

Thanks guys. Progress has been slow going but I'm chipping away at getting it all reassembled and finish the final touches. The weather warming up has really been getting me antsy to just backburner all the additional projects I want to do on the bike and just get it running and rolling...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

Re: 1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Tentatively named "Grey Ghost" Build Once the front bearings went in, I got back to work making the bike a rolling frame again. Front and back suspensions went in, along with the wheels, and Tarozzi clip-ons. I am going to try mounting the clip on's above the top...

    1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Grey Ghost Build

Re: 1970 Honda CB450 K3 - Tentatively named "Grey Ghost" Build Haven't updated in quite some time as the build sorta stalled out. Going through some issues on the homefront which back burnered the build. I've been lugging the frame around for 3 weeks in the back of my Subaru working on it...
