Will buying a sport bike ruin my vintage bike experience(s)?

Not sure who said it originally but it goes something like, it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow... I prefer the old bikes for this reason :)

    1975 XS 650 cafe

Version 3.. Back from the dead.. Last time this bike was on the road was summer '12.. Ride to mid ohio and some local stuff to finish the season.. Spring '13 pulled her out to get ready for the summer and found alloy and ferrous material in both oil filters so back in the shed she went.. Almost...

    Custom bikes up close?

I keep my bikes oily rag clean, they might get washed once a year.. For me a nice paint job is a magnet for a dropped wrench. I've had nice stuff it takes to much to keep it that way. I won't live in fear of tool dings or paint chips, they tell a story.. Mechanical soundness is priority...

    75 Zuki Titan

75 Zuki Titan Found the power.. After my ride I pulled the plugs on the trans. Went to throw the oil out this morning and my drain pan had the shimmery sparkle of something inside isn't playing well with its neighbor. Same as my 650 which I've pushed into the corner til next year. Shit...

    T500 rearsets question

Fixed.. Got to take my linkage off before I start it... 8 feet of 5/16ths rod wasted says that there isn't an easy way to do it with stock exhaust... Chambers next year and then I'll have the room to flip everything...

    75 Zuki Titan

75 Zuki Titan All right. I love this bike. Cleaned the coil grounds and mount, tidied up the wiring with some new bullet connectors, cleaned the ground on the rectifier and she's good to go. Starts first kick, runs at a reasonable pace with no obscene amounts of smoke, very mellow and...

    T500 rearsets question

Shift side of the bike, kick starter pivot interference with the heim joint and linkage if I rotate the shift lever (piece remaining in the spline shaft) to the back - behind the kicker and due to the length of the lever the range of motion at the peg is too much... if I run the lever in front...

    75 Zuki Titan

75 Zuki Titan Got my first ride in tonight, total of 1.6km.. Bike is running like a bag of shit.. The lights were dimming and fluctuating in brightness quite a bit so based on that I started with electrical issues. Well. 9 crimp connectors that I've found so far that are loose. Not a little...

Can I flush through my cad tank with petrol!!!

Yes. Any solvent would work to flush out the vinegar - varsol, thinner, kerosene, fuel, diesel etc. WD-40 or two stroke oil after to keep it from flash rusting..

    pipe wrapping a small section

I personally wouldn't worry about it. I run a two - one on my 650 yamaha and the collector is about 1/4 inch below the sump and it doesn't even try to burn the oil..

1981 Suzuki GS450 Triple Tree Options

Fork tube diameter and distance between fork tubes both need to be the same as what you are running. If you pick up a whatever 33mm tree set then your spacers may need to change for your wheel / caliper placement etc...
