All,
Looking for a float bowl for a 1978 cb550 with the rare keihin PD46a carbs. Any help would greatly appreciated. I cracked the opening where the ims screw goes in and now it leaks bad. Any way to fix this or do i need to buy another? Here are a few pics.
Hello all,
I hope that the experts on this site will be able to help me get my 550k dialed in. I recently purchased the 78' 550 with the POD filters and MAC 4 to 1 exhaust already installed on the bike. The bike came from an elevation of 1000ft above sea level and I live at 5000ft above sea...
Thanks swan...I was thinking of lowering the main jet to start. It seems like I have a slight flat spot at 7k like its struggling for air...I adjusted all my air/fuel mixture screws to the factory specs. Do you think that will help too?
I know this is a total stab in the dark....but anybody live in the eastern Idaho area? I am transplanted from the PDX and looking for other fellow DTT members out here.
PS I am in Idaho Falls
Let me know!
Hello all,
So my cb400f seems to shut off after running for awhile. I was at the stop light the other day and it just shut off. I am guessing I need to make an adjustment on the carbs. I did just move from an elevation of 1000 ft. to a town of about 5000ft. I am pretty sure that is...
I agree with most of the guys about the 750 but I would also take into consideration your riding level and what you think of the bikes you are looking at as far as turning into a cafe. If you don't like the bike you could potential struggle with wanting to complete a project. Just a thought...
you still in Firth? I am in Idaho Falls and I moved out here last August from Portland and I have yet to find anyone that is interested in Cafe bikes....I am swimming in a sea of Harley ridiculousness!
Not really, just starting. Had it for about 2 years and now I want to convert it into a cafe bike once I got everything dialed in. I don't plan on going overboard and want to have more of a nostalgic look. At least thats the plan anyway!
Yes that is correct...I have transplanted from the PDX to Idaho Falls for work and am looking for other cafe racers that live in this area. I know I am taking a wild stab in the dark here but I thought I would give it a shot. Here is my project a sweet 75 CB400F. Let me know what ya think!
