I just found this thread. I'll be buying a shirt or two through your website within a few days. And while I don't normally do anything with the bike you're talking about building, I'll be happy to kick in any parts that I have that might work.
I need to go out and look at the bike and not rely on my admittidly faulty memory... I assume you have to drain the oil before pulling the right side cover?
Jooh-Yah, thanks for the info! I haven't had time to mess with anything yet so I will definitely try that first. That would be sweet if thats all it is.
XB and Maritime, you guys fucking rock. Thanks for the information, and for the link XB. I've been trying to find some other threads with similar issues, and I really appreciate yall helping me out. I'll be sure to post what I find.

Ok cool. I will try that tonight. Thanks for the all the information! I've been so busy lately that I haven't had a chance to do much searching and reading on here yet, so I appreciate the advice.
Maritime, thanks for the info. I had to remove the shift arm when I took the side cover off to check the timing. I just put it back on where it looked right and didn't even think about how that might have an effect on the shifting, so I may need to move it a spline or two.
If that doesn't do...
Alright, here's the good and the bad. First the good... I took it for a ride around the neighborhood. Started right up and the engine ran well. No problems revving all the way up to red line. Granted I didn't get over about 40 but I was just happy to be able to ride it.
Josh, somebody (I think...
