Getting an electronics tray worked up today for under the cowl. Will house the battery, M-Unit, starter solenoid, etc.

Really need to get the seat sanded around the edges and squared up. Still rough cut from taking an angle grinder around it to get rid of the excess glass needed to pop it out of the mold.

I talked to Devin the other day. He gave me the impression they are being made by an outside source.

I'll get with you in the near future for a set of carbs for the ole girl. They worked great on the 750. No need to switch up a good formula.

Got the bulk of the electronics tray finished.

Battery will be here Monday. Which is irritating. It's in town, at the UPS place, but they're closed. Get that all sorted, and the end capped off early next week.

I've been so busy I haven't had time to touch this thing in the last couple months.

Finally, I have a touch of time.

Going to try to get the engine rebuilt this weekend. Just tearing into her. Surprisingly, all the valves were in spec. Couple .003" that're getting a bit on the tight end to loosen up a coupe thou, but that's easy enough.

Looking good mate. If you're doing a full teardown, do you know about the primary chain oiler mod you can do? It's really simple. It involves drilling a 1mm hole into the primary chain oiler in this position -

This hole then oils the cam chain directly too (which otherwise isn't oiled directly), as well as the primary chain. Just drill deep enough until you feel the bit enter the port inside the oiler.

I also picked up one of these shift detent stars from a guy over on the cb1100F.net forum (his forum name is - fittingly - Captain). Although I'm yet to ride the bike, I'm assured the profiling on the star makes shifting gears a lot smoother -

Cam side of the head looked clean enough.

Once the head came off, it doesn't look so good. Rusty valves, shit caked everywhere. Cylinders don't look good at all.

Thinking about just B12 swapping it. Friend has a clean late 90's Bandit he'll sell me for a grand. Has like 8K on it. I know it runs exceptionally well.

Makin any progress on this thing?
Barely.

Getting the last bits I need in over the next week or so. Aluminum oil cooler, braided lines, offset sprockets.

It's insane how little time I've had for this over the past year and a half or so. Makes me kind of sad.
