Any other Aussies still around?

Thanks Guys, I've found a couple of XV750's in ACT or VIC (I'm in Sydney) and the starting price seems to be from $3000. There is a 'barn find' in the middle of WA somewhere for $650

Hey ShadyOne, I think I know where there is a shaft drive one in Wollongong for between $1500 to $2K. Let me know if you're interested and I'll find out for sure.

Just logged back in for ages the other day and I see the most recent post in here is October 2017.

Any other Aussies still on here? I'm in sunny (smoky?) Brissie myself.
Down here on the south coast nsw! XV750

Still here and in 'open the borders up' Sydney. Elbow deep in my 1981 XV750 for a few months during Covid lockdown until kids sport started up which took up most of my weekends. Now winter sport is finishing up for the year I'm looking forward to getting stuck back into the Virago rebuild.

Very Nice Skogga...Can quite see what colours you've gone with on the casing and side covers. Mine is currently in pieces being cleaned up and undecieded with what to paint black and what to leave silver/polished.

Yeah thanks Shady, there's a few options with the engine paint. The tank I just went silver but sanded it matte and reliced it a little. I like the old school look, thats why I went traditional style forks, not USD. These 43mm Showa forks are perfect for the weight of the bike, but the rear is soooo hard like a hardtail! The CBR1100 had the shock a lot more vertical in the bike so its a lot stiffer. I dont mind really, its just a cruiser anyway and I really like dodging potholes. The main thing I would do is try and source an better starter system, XV1000 etc. Those "bag of bolts" starter setup on the 750 are really a PITA!

Nice Skogga, very clean look. That air filter is great. Wish my XV1100 was that simple.

ShadyOne, have you had a look at any of Der_Nanno's stuff. Guy is a genius with the XV range and has the perfect combo for an engine. Might pay to have a look while yours is so far apart.

Haha Brodie, you know what its off.......I had a 15hp Kohler ride on engine in the shed, saw the filter on it and liked the shape, bought a new one and made a bracket. Its hard to find one that looks ok!

Ha very creative. The shape of it is quite nice.
I ended up using an aftermarket filter for a Kingswood on mine.

Looks great Brodie, bet ya its a lot more comfy than my one! Those Mikuni flatslides arent stock are they?

Thanks mate,. No it stock. Still need to sort them out properly but they made a big difference from the worn out stock ones.

Hi Brodie
I'm almost a neighbour here at Beaudesert. I am riding a gen1 SV650 Cafe racer which seems to be constantly evolving.
Like your bike, and I am sure many aussies watch this site even if they don't post
