A bit more progress...Cylinders look good enough, cross hatching visible. Apparently my straight edge is M.I.A., so cant check that yet...I suspect a 5 year old has been chopping blackberries with it. One cam bolt decided to strip its edges, tapped on a 3/8 and hit it while turning popped it off thankfully.

Now it's slow time....my valve compressor got lost in the mail, waiting for confirmation.
That's good though, I Need to do some homework.
That's the 76 gl1000 motor I should do something with...a buggy/sounds fun...

Update....its been slow. Got heads back, got all the parts now...minus some vacuum hoses but hopefully Get it reassembled this weekend...am cutting and splitting firewood though, so that sucks lol.

Well...after lots of firewood, helping someone move, and several interruptions...
It lives lol.
Now to daily drive a bit. If it survives a while its gonna get some forester springs and a spacer lift.

How are their DOJ and CV joints and boots now? I had '78 Brat and '80 hatchback and wagon. Did a total of a dozen axle jobs on them. In general, I found that period Subies pretty poor quality even though we loved the 4WD.

Daughter has a '12 Suzuki SX4 CVT AWD now and it has been good for her but watching out for what she'll need next.

They look good, not sure if they were replaced or not..but I'm Thinking they were. We'll see how they hold up.

I took a 78 Brat to Cleveland in 82. It was flawless. Four years later I had replaced the front fenders and associated brackets, fasteners and the headlight pods four times. It eventually rusted to the point that I sent it to scrap. I loved that little truck, easy to drive, park and generally a fun ride.
