    Honda 650 single

Thanks! Yes, it wouldn't be that much work to fit the Yamaha motor.....theres certainly enough room as I originally intended the frame to take either the RFVC or the Transalp V twin.....not so sure about the DR's The problem (in the UK at least) is that they're getting a bit scarce....when I...

    Honda 650 single

Thanks but this is my 9th one of these....though I know exactly what you mean....I spin them on the starter motor whilst pumping oil down the feed line til I get both oil return at the tank and supply at the head union.... I grew up on BSA singles and it used to be pretty much SOP to take the...

    CAFE CREME - BOARD.....TRACKER

Looks like I might be doing some posts here soon TJ! A friend of mine runs a Sunday morning bike meet up and this turned up ...... Its a Snake Motors Kitano K16 imported from Japan and seriously considering building a similar style frame either to take the 125/250 Virago motor or possibly a...

    Honda 650 single

Oh well, another 3 years gone! While I was building the red bike I made an extra frame and started putting together another one for my own use.....and never got round to finishing it....which finally happened today! Modified the rear part of the frame so as to locate all the electrical...

I always use this chap TJ, well respected, sensible prices and works from the garage behind his house....not some big business with lots of staff to pay! http://www.pwwheels.co.uk/Index.html

    CAFE CREME - BOARD.....TRACKER

Yes, good to see you back TJ.....interested to see how this works out! Its not as if I haven't got plenty to do already but keep thinking about building something similar except with a considerably less powerful engine.... a Honda GX generator motor!

    Monster Version 2

The cast iron is a mid grey colour....a bit darker than it shows on their colour chart but can't find a pic of anything I've painted with it! At one time though I was trying to match the Brembo caliper light gold colour on some cases...VHT gold is a lot darker....used the cast aluminium and then...

    Monster Version 2

I've tried the VHT cast iron colour....didn't much like it tbh.....they do one called black pearl though, not exactly OE looking I know but I'm a big fan of it!

2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

Thats a bit of a bugger Colin....especially as you're so close to done! Bear in mind it was half a lifetime ago that I last worked on a 2 stroke but I'd have thought it unlikely the seal would just go abruptly....more likely there'd have been symptoms before....hard to start/poor idle? I did at...

    90's CB500 build

Well.....bit of a long answer...originally I'd just planned to link the downtubes and main frame rails with tube a bit lower down But there is a big cast lug on the front of the cylinder head that is unused on any of the 500 twins....no idea why its there at all So at first I just made the...

    90's CB500 build

Finished making the actual tank in ali but kept on looking at the way the tank cover overlapped the frame at the front.... In the end decided I couldn't live with it.....it won't take long to alter I thought.....3 days later and nearly a whole tin of filler....

    CB550 Project Scruffy Racer

Really nice result....just read the whole thing while having my morning coffee! Wondering if you're aware of this firm....just by the Blackwall Tunnel? http://www.allbikeengineering.co.uk/ They make brake discs (and fork stanchions as well) the one in the pic below cost £75.....suspect you're...

    90's CB500 build

Headlight brackets made..... And the nosecone mounted.... Also, had a go at the tank....this one is just a mock up from scrap steel sheet....I taped the edges so I could fill it with water to measure the capacity....1.9 gallons. Was having a lot of trouble getting the shape right so...

    90's CB500 build

Made an airbox today..... The slot is for a small panel filter.... And some temporary rad mounts.....eventually there'll be a bit of a shroud there to direct air to both the rad and the air intake which will be just inside the tube marked 'R'!

    90's CB500 build

Not really sure Steve, am slightly tempted by a Ducati look...red bodywork....gold frame....but next week I'll probably be thinking something completely different!
