That's the frame in etch primer.... One regular image and a ghostly image with just my head torch for lighting. From this... To this... I shall be painting and polishing this weekend :)

I did uncover my oil tank cut n shut...still like how it worked out :) Just need to open a 50mm hole in the carrier to access the bottom AN outlet for the feed pipe access. Will have it tig'd in a couple of places on the cage.

I'm not relying on the gauge, following many replies and stated figures. However, a dirty CDi loom was spotted and it fired up after 2-3 stabs on the starter. How it runs on the road is another matter, but it runs for now, Thank you for your input.

2x stroke street tracker - project coming together slowly.

Thanx Teazer, I tried another test wet and the psi raised to 40psi, so the gauge is not peaking out at 35 but still not entirely trusting the calibration/operation. However, the thing fired up and ran on a squirt of juice in the carb throats...after I foundand cleaned a dirty/loose threeway CDi...

Hi Guys, Back in the saddle for another go at getting the Suzonda running and finished..... I have found the love again, so setting to on the build.....ordered a new igniter unit, just so everything on the spark side is fresh. A compression test showed 35psi on both pots...wet it read 40psi...

    CAFE CREME - BOARD.....TRACKER

Hey Beachy, good to see you're making steady progress on the old velocipede. Maybe try RAL 9010 for a slightly off white/cream colour. I was mistakenly given this code as the appliance white (RAL9003) that I had my Suzonda wheels coated in.....turned out when the tank/bodywork was painted in...

    CBX550-Brat/urban scrambler on a budget

Managed to dodge the downpours for an hour or so this morning and gave the CBX a run out to blow the cobwebs away....and test the rebuilt front end. Handles much better, the front actually feels like it's doing some suspending...which is good. Couldn't top up tyre pressures as the 'free air'...

    CBX550-Brat/urban scrambler on a budget

Sadly, and shamefully, it has laid up a lot longer than it has even been ridden ove the 25years I've owned it. Once upon a time it was my daily transport and I loved it.

    CBX550-Brat/urban scrambler on a budget

All done. A pair of repro fork stancions along with OEM seals and fresh ATF fluid. One thing I didn't look at 5 years ago was the anti-dive mechanism/valve. Well, it turns out there was no spring to retain the ballbearing...which turned out to be too small, new ball and spring could have it...

    CBX550-Brat/urban scrambler on a budget

If anyone is following my CBX550 fork misadventures...here's an update: The first repro fork tube turned out to not match the tube we removed...odd?? the new, leftside tube was shorter by 9mm than the one we took out......quick call to DS and subsequent email/image exchanges turned up the old...

    CBX550-Brat/urban scrambler on a budget

The time has come......to change the leftside forkseal. It's been progreesively getting worse and pissing oil out of the gaitor for a while now.....snuck it through the MOT but the puddle of oil is getting bigger. Ordered a repro fork tube from David Silver in the UK, apparently they have a good...
