I got a few of these bad boys in the shop if you want to try them out. http://www.sparckmoto.com/Products/Detail/87 They're pretty decent.

Does the LED have a driver? If the light is already bright enough you can add a 1K resistor to the power line to treat it as the running light and then another line with no resistor for the brake.

Angle looks better on the light. Nice one.

Fabbed a plastic spacer to hold the space open for the mounting bracket and then put another layer of filler over it. Sanded it down again and then a coat of glazing putty.

Someone in a YZF Facebook group just gave me a link to a company in the Czech Republic that makes replacement fairings. They also have a carbon fiber option... https://www.sebimoto.com/fairing-for-motorbike-yamaha-yzf-750-sp-s-93-94-upper-part

Noticed another crack in the front fairing this morning, so I drilled a couple of holes to relieve the stress then welded it up. I followed that up by smoothing things down with some 320 grit. The sanding revealed that I didn't get very good penetration (visible on the left in pic ending 344) on...

I was getting ready to lay down some more fiberglass today when I suddenly realized I had a really good supply of ABS. We go through a few thousand feet of wire each month and have tons of these plastic spools laying around. I broke of a couple of them, cut them down to size, then got to work...

New tail light arrived. Can't say I'm a fan of how bright it isn't, but it'll get the job done. Drilled out the tail and added some grommets for the wiring.

OK... before diverging too far from stock I've decided to see what I can do about repairing the plastics. In the spirit of staying home and not buying anything, I'm using materials laying around the shop. First layer is old screen material, soaked with epoxy. We'll let it set overnight and then...

Toying with the idea of keeping the fairing intact, but running some lights down low for visibility and turn signals. Daytime use only, probably.

Unfortunately, it looks like we have some fitment issues here as well. I'm assuming that this fairing was designed for race use, as the front mount is still several inches away from the fairing but the top is run up against the gauges. Also, not pictured, is the locations for the frame sliders...

Time to look at the body work for the front end. Old front fairing is a little broken, so I'm just using it as a template to transfer the cutouts to the fiberglass.
