1949 Ford F-3 "old red truck"

Looks good man! If you are serious about roller and brush work on the body you need to get w/ my buddy Herb... now your friend, too. He can't do any kind of spray stuff and has become a master at making auto body work look beautiful with unorthodox methods. I know you aren't going to try for...

I'm sure that much of the clearance filling goo has drifted south and is no longer filling clearances! I wouldn't be surprised if the old gitl knocks louder than an Avon Lady or a process server.

Don't forget to start lifting weights in your spare time. That'll make the Armstrong steering system easier for you to handle. That light bulb over the battery reminds me of the stuff we had to go through w/ our vehicles when I lived in Fairbanks, Alaska. In addition to the freeze plug heater...

I'm liking the "keeping it grandpa's truck" idea. Just for curiosity sake what would be the feasibility of doing a conversion to 12v? Alternator/regulator, battery, bulbs, & coil might do it. I'll bet the starter motor could probably handle 12v as-is as long as you didn't have to do lengthy...

    10mm socket issue... solved?

Ok, so this may be old news, but for as long as I can remember there has been a serious problem that mechanics have had to deal with; the issue of the missing 10mm socket. Now I know this may be old news, if so excuse this old guy and I'll go back into my corner. It seems that the good people...

1949 Ford F-3 "old red truck"

Hmmm, I'm confused... it's an old F3, 1 ton that was going to be converted to a 1/2 ton by putting the body onto a newer 1/2 ton chassis w/ a Mustang disk brake rear end and a Chev 350/350 engine trans... Now it's going to be a F3 body on a different F3 chassis?

And here we sit... I went out of town for a few days and then got tied up w/ the project of getting the trailer ready for this winter. I've cleaned up the shop, better organized the parts, and have done more reading, searching for parts, watching YouTube, and making decisions about the build...

Great news! Know how you feel; I went through the same thing when wiring up the Hedgehog and it was great to get it all sorted out.
