One cylinder cooler than the other

How are you measuring the cylinder temp? Its possible that the compression ratio is slightly different on that cylinder because of differences in the piston/combustion chamber volumes. Its not uncommon to have a 1-2cc delta on either the factory piston or the combustion chamber. But beyond...

Longer intake runners vs stock bolted carb to head Q's

25+ needles last i checked. They are huge in asia on tons of small stuff. They actually might be good for your application, but "practical" for you - maybe not. But hey slapping snowmobile carbs on a vintage twin with limited support doesnt seem practical to me. lol.

Longer intake runners vs stock bolted carb to head Q's

Yoshimura sells them. Realistically performance carbs are a boutique industry these days. If you went into my local dealer asking for performance carbs they'd probably come back out with a bag of raw oats and some muscle milk! The TMR-MJN have some rather unique features available - copies they...

Longer intake runners vs stock bolted carb to head Q's

Eh, thats a bit like comparing apples to oranges. FCRs are a completely different beast to TM38. TM series carbs would never be my first choice on a 4 stroke street bike. They are fairly rudimentary carbs originally designed for two strokes. Maybe you could compare the FCR to the Mikuni RS...

    Kawasaki Z1000 Turbo Reborn

I got my KZ1000 down to 460lbs wet with a half tank of gas (LTD tank). i dont think its possible to go much lower in street trim unless you ditch the starter, stator, and go to fiberglass gas tank. It will be interesting to see waht your MKII comes in at. Love the paint on both these bikes...

Longer intake runners vs stock bolted carb to head Q's

vacuum gets weaker as you open the throttle and should be strongest at idle. 57mm carb for both cylinders or each? either way it seems way too big for the displacement, if you want a smoother idle you likely need to down size your carb. What kind of carb is it? What size is the intake port? what...

Longer intake runners vs stock bolted carb to head Q's

Extended runners will do differnt things on different engines. typically longer intakes create more torque and less horsepower and a short intake the opposite, with so many variables at play the only real way to know it to dyno it. A hard bend in the intake runner will always be a difficult to...

    '83 GPz750 Resto-Mod (pic heavy)

thanks for the info. I have a project i may use that on. Brembo laser etches the size. 4M16+13 tells you its a 13mm bore. I think the 4M16 is the seal assembly. Every modern Brembo MC i have seen is marked this way. sometimes it will say "X" instead of "+"

Arranging pickup/shipping of engine from eBay?

Liftgate pickup/delivery is what will drive the cost up. I have used YRC freight for LTL. they have good rates but make sure the guy crates it really well. LTL shipping is rough on product.

An Atlas Craftsman 6" Lathe Non Restoration

following along. In regards to the spur gear dilemma - have you looked at 3d printing them? there seem to be lots of relatively cheap sets of changes gears that are 3d printed on ebay, but i have no experience with them.
