You might consider recessing that hitch and chain attachments points. Your shins will thank you! I cussed my Dodge Ram two or three times a day until I recessed the offending shin busters. I do love the the bumper.

    XS650 engine extraction thingy.

I'm going to be 72 in a few months, stand 5'6" and weigh about 163. That's why I no longer pick up engines of any kind and sit them in the frame. Lay the engine on it's side. Fit the bare frame over the engine. Fit a few bolts to hold the engine. I use my motorcycle jack to sit it back up...

    XS650 engine extraction thingy.

I lay the engines on their side and place the bare frame over them. That's a nice piece of equipment but I really can't justify the time/expense of building something I would rarely use.

Harbor Freight has the 5 pound vibratory tumbler on close out for $59 and change. I picked one up today and so far it is doing good cleaning some 65 year old hardware. Be sure to check the website before heading to a HF store. Not all stores have them...

    DR650 Cafe. Scratch Built Amelioration

I can get it done in Arkansas via the 25 year antique cycle rule. The frame number has to be clean (no record) according to CycleVin site. Pretty easy and fairly cheap but takes a while to get the title.

    A bit of ally polishing

Removing those casting lumps on the front hub greatly improves the looks! Nice job!

    Upper Fork Covers

If you decide to go with 35mm forks you can use the trees from a 74 or later CB/CL450 or 500 Twin or from the CB500/550 four. They bolt on and the steering stops work with your frame. Same for the forks from the above bikes plus the 73-79 CB750 SOHC. There are other donors but these model...

    Upper Fork Covers

Some folks have used chrome/nickel sink drain pipes to cover the upper bare forks. https://www.grainger.com/product/1PNT1?gucid=N:N:PS:Paid:GGL:CSM-2295:4P7A1P:20501231&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3q3vlcrbhAMV5m5_AB1Z5gYKEAQYDyABEgI4VPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
