You should take the ferry ride over to the Isle of Man.
I went to the races last June and it was spectacular.
The ferry ride is about 2 1/2 hours long I believe but you can check when there or look online.
Yeah and the National Motorcycle Museum is pretty cool in Birmingham.
Easy to miss in the...
Supposed to be some of the best weather this weekend in Birmingham we have had in a long time.
I am bringing two bikes this year the café racer and the 1979 Goldwing I just did a resto/mod on.
Also finally bought an antique truck to haul my antique bikes. ;-)
They have a lot of space or you can go back and forth daily on the ferry to Liverpool.
We are staying at the hotel in Douglas that is walking distance to the Grandstand, pits and paddock area.
My lovely wife has planned everything and we have VIP tickets and access to everything.
They have...
Will be attending my first and probably only Isle of Man races this June we actually leave for London on May 25th.
Staying in London a few days then taking the Eurostar to Paris for 4 days then back to London pick a car up and drive to Liverpool.
Then we catch a plane flight over to the Isle of...
Okay looks like I will have version 2.0 finished soon but just wanted to throw a teaser out there for the new full race exhaust.
We had to cut, bend and weld the new exhaust because of the custom JMC swingarm lower brace.
Can't see much but it sounds really great and very pleased.
Should help...
If I can get by on Saturday afternoon I can maybe give someone a break at least.
I already have my passes so no worry there.
I will PM my cell number and you can always give me a buzz.
See ya soon.
I will be attending as usual never miss this show.
When are you looking for volunteers.
I will have a space in the swap meet so I have to make sure that is covered.
See you there.
Chris
Okay the 1979 GL1000 should be up and running this weekend and should have the panels back from paint tomorrow or Monday. ;D
Everything had been going great until I forgot that I had not torqued the rear brake halves together correctly on the rear caliper and made a freakin mess because it...
Been trying to figure out how long this bike had really been sitting in someone's garage.
I knew when I bought it that it was longer than 2-3 years as stated.
The reason being the tires which I had never heard of the rear tire maker before.
So I contacted the Mfg. and was told it had been at...
A while back I was looking around on EBay and noticed some custom built Works Performance shocks for sale.
So I asked them about the shocks and they said someone had ordered the shocks and then decided they didn't want them.
But they were custom built for his specifications so they said they...
Okay just like the rear turn signals the fronts were just as big a pain in the butt.
Mainly because the 1979 year was the only model they used the rectangle turn signals and everyone cut the mounting tabs off.
So finding intact fork ears was pretty much impossible because the dealers removed the...
Worked about 3 hours last Sunday on the following. ;D
The left side is what they looked like before I started and the right is about halfway through the sanding process.
Here both fork legs have been completely sanded and hand polished.
This picture I was able to find a polishing bit...
John did you ever get that wing up and running or still work in progress?
Yeah best thing I could have done was send my carbs off to pistol Pete's.
Hope yours is going better.
Thanks!
But it has been a work in progress over the last three months.
Bike wasn't in horrible shape but had been sitting at least since the late 90's in a garage.
Looked like someone had gotten it out and tried to fix the carbs and had no idea what they were doing.
Ended up with parts in the...

I have the nice clean radiator installed with all new hoses and clamps.
New petcock with all new fuel lines installed.
the front calipers are installed but I am not running the lines until I choose some handlebars.
Plus I have to ever...
