You could have that head skimmed at a machine shop for around $80-$100, I used to do them all the time when I was machining. Just be sure to have them record how much they take off so you can make up the difference with a thicker gasket for timing purposes. However, I agree with the others...

I'll second the swapping to the dual disc CB750 forks. Gives you much needed braking power and it's actually set up for rear mounted calipers. I did this on my 79 750 with a front end from an 82 F model.

Maybe buy a blank sprocket from somewhere like McMaster-Carr and have it broached at a shop to fit the splines of the engine?

I'd second the clevis idea and make it removable. Way easier than welding onto the original aluminum frame and makes future repairs less of a headache.

Did some much needed maintenance this past weekend. Valve cover gasket, oil and filter, new o rings for the filter housing, fork seals and fluid. Also painted the faded purple/gray/ primer.
