modified, aftermarket, or custom. nothing is safe (78 KZ1000)

Finally found a radial tire in the vintage sizes im running - Bridgestone T32 110/80/18 & 140/70/18. I also went with the Outex Tubeless kit. Wasn't easy to install but it removed over a 1lb from the front and 1.5lbs from the rear with the removal of the inner tubes. I also used this opportunity...

    Budget Time-sert kit

you need to counter bore to what ever the insert flange diameter is. for a M10 its probably around 13 or 14 mm. You can do this with a drill bit if you are extremely careful to keep it from biting in.

New electric diagram for my SR 250

just an FYI, the regulator can get pretty hot under a seat like that and melt down and fry your lithium battery. Happened to me. I moved it so it got fresh air and haven't had a problem since.

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

I had a crash at The Ridge this weekend. Tucked the front end on the entry of turn 7 and slid to the outside, I think my tires were not up to temp and got too greedy with the front brake. I walked away completely fine, not even sore. With the spares I had I could have fixed it track-side and...

    1972 Honda CL450 Scrambler Refurb

Engine braking is largely a product of engine compression. The z900 is probably around 230psi compression and the CL is probably around 150psi.

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

Engine is back together and everything is buttoned up. Still not sure why it blew the head gasket in the first place, but I went through every element of the cooling system and replaced pretty much everything i could. I swapped out the radiator reservoir overflow tube for a clear tube and routed...

    Found a $300 CB550

I think the tire/wheel combo looks good and appropriate for the year. it will ride better with the smaller tire.

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

I stuck a bore scope in the front cylinder and as suspected the head gasket is blown. This cylinder was making 225PSI - rear cylinder was 230PSI. I checked the head for flatness and its good to go. I'm just gonna slap a new gasket on there and party on for the rest of the season. I recently...

    '99 SV650 track rebuild

Im overdue for a track report here. The last time I was at the track I was a mechanical catastrophe. I've also learned my IQ is practically cut in half when I'm trying to troubleshoot track-side. Day 1 went well, but day two started off poorly. First start up of the day the bike turns over once...
