Personally, I like to collect Takasago high shoulder alloy or DID alloy from swap meets and restore them for my builds, then buy spoke sets from Buchanan to match my hubs and build them myself. You can also send your hubs to Buchanan and have them build your wheels. Spoke sets are around $125...

74 is the first year of the alloy high shoulder Takasago. They came on 74-79. That's the rim to have on any XS, imo. The steel rear rim is not original for 74. Steel rims were 70 - 73 and 80s Specials. The front wheel is definitely not laced right.

Most TPU is fuel resistant. I've read examples of people using it to print carburetor gaskets, but I haven't tried that myself. Both of my attempts so far have been on the airbox side with zero degradation or swelling on the Elsinore so far.
