Actually, there are alot of really nice places to ride around where i live. Lots of FM and RR highways. I wouldn't take any of them at night because of deer tho.
Central Texas here, about a 100 miles from anywhere. Just bought a '72 cb500 I am building on. I had another one b4, but decided to turn it into a parts bike since it wasn't running and had no title.
I found these guys a while back, they have some pretty cheap stuff in their inventory (all namebrand stuff too) and there is even a clearnce rack where stuff is SUPER cheap.

You could try a Tour master Coaster II, I have been eyeing one myself and they come w/ vents, armor, and a liner for colder days. http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/catalog/Coaster-II-Leather-Jacket-p-62_5.html
It seems to me that this bike is just a bit overpriced. I mean, I know it's a featherbed, but almost $1000 for something in this shape? Seems a bit much...
I was noticing that you have rearsets mounted, but the stock brake pedal is still on the bike. Is the linkage hooked directly to it or something? Just curious...
What exactly IS period correct for a cafe racer? I mean, have they not continued on in some form or fashion since the early 50's? And if they are being "period correct" why are they not all riding Norton featherbeds?
If you are referring to caferacer.net, don't feel too bad, most of those guys are know it all a-holes and like to pick on anybody new or anyone who uses clubmans. This board is much, MUCH better.
It's been in the mid 70's here in Texas for a while now. Me and some friends have been cruising back roads and such on my Trail 110 for the past couple of weeks. It's been a blast!
