Congratulations! Well deserved win!

Jealous! I'm only 35 now. Hoping to be retired at 55. Have some investments in real estate, some in RRSP (401k equivalent) and new job comes with a government pension ...... so hoping it should be enough by 55 to say "see ya later".

Damn, man. That sucks after all that time getting everything buttoned up. That is really strange given your inline filter. I would expect a cheap one to have cracked and leaked before it remained tight but let flakes of rust through. Doesnt add up. Wonder if there is a chance the line...

Did you not install any kind of filter? After realizing what a pain 4 carbs are, and not wishing to do it again any time soon, i put the strainer filter on the petcock and an inline fuel filter downstream a bit. The bike looks BEAUTIFUL! Really well put together. Just great. The seat came out...

It was on some SV650 forum. Guys doing GSXR swaps had compiled it up. From my research, i could not find a similar one for other manufacturers .... and i searched quite a bit.

"Fluid appearing in the reservoir" Hmm .... Were you trying to pump ALL of the brake fluid in the reverse manner? I poured brake fluid in, did conventional bleed until I got fluid at the calipers. Stopped. Did reverse bleed (slowly!) until bubbles stopped coming up at the master and the fluid...

Cool. Do you make sure it is ethanol free gas? I heard Chevron 91-94 is supposed to be 100% ethanol free? I have some stabil that's like 3 years old. Wonder if stabil itself can go bad? Lol Thanks man!!

With choke! Ran right away (struggling) for 3-4 seconds and died. Then I did half choke and a tiny bit of throttle and it fired right up and continued to run. I am OK with this as the starting procedure. It was pretty quick.

I believe the mixture screws were turned out 2.5 turns. Or maybe 2.75 I wasnt sure what so I just did what I googled from the net and I think it was 2.5

I feel like a moron ... for not trying this. I just went out, gave it 5 twists and got the bike running from cold in about 10-15 seconds. I honestly dont have an answer for why I didnt try this. I guess just too long since I've last owned a carburated bike *shrug* Thanks!!!

That is a strange looking piston. Is that the rear MC? The surface where the seals sit looks better than the rest of it. What does the bore inside the MC look like? Same as outside or smoother?

I didnt have magnet handy and when my car is in the garage, in addition to bike, ATV, 2 strollers and a pile of hunting gear, there isnt much room for me to wiggle to the work bench lol! I'll give it a test in a couple days.

Thanks for the kind words!! The only thing I might do is take out the screws he used one by one and replace with stainless ones, maybe add small washers under each one as well. Looks like he glued and screwed it in. His english is very bad so he wasnt able to answer if they were stainless or...
