Not been around for a while but thought I'd pop up my journey of my XS750. Granted not a true cafe like my fathers Triton of the 60's but this old bike landed in my hands 5 yrs ago in a right old state and its been through a few changes since.
Started out left in a garden ... non runner, an...
Busy week and so close to the finished product.. carbs stripped to find leak, changed seals and checked float heights.. only to discover the I'd forgot to replace the poor fitting fuel line .. it appears the leak may have been here..
Rear mudguard now painted.. and tank done.. decals and...

Its alive and running.. took for its first run today!! Its been such a long journey.. and other projects in the way and hobbies but felt great to hear that Delkevic at 9k.. I'm so pleased with how it turned out.. still a few jobs but mechanically she seems good.. all electrics work and engine...
Ok installed last night... Bike is not with me as its at my mates being tuned so desperate to get the seat on...
Looks ok I think.. I'm not sure what else I could have done even if I'd designed from scratch! Ended up bonding it in rather than some elaborate screw and bracket.. ended up a tidy...
Progress has been made on the rear light as well.. I hated the twin set up and cheap rear lights so I've modifed a Triumph 675 rear light and it fits perfect.
Bit of dremmel work...
The gap is really small but she fits perfect... I'll get some pics, just need to seal the last two gaps.
I agree its why I opted for a slimmer tyre, originally I was wanting a 130 but quickly advised it may look good but the handling would be greatly affected. I may even put a 90 on the front at some stage.
Ooh yes rear will be nice.. I had thought about a 3" rear, 120 will be good. I think front will support the 100 well.
Yes almost finished just tank to paint..
I've got a Yamaha XS750 painted and its been fine.. So I think it will be ok..
You guys are great... I totally agree with all the comments.. I've ordered a couple of units and will report back, yes brushed ally backing is needed , in truth the lights were just mocked up so I would have finished them better but they look all wrong. Also I've had to lower the fender to fit...
Cool thanks, yes this was always my plan.. love dual set up. Its just I wanted it to blow me away more, I think it might be the cheap lenses and the fact the mudguard is just in plastic gel coat at the moment!
Ha ha.. I'll be putting not safe at work warnings for you ! I spent so long looking at the rear end.. last night my Mrs is now seriously concerned ha a!
When you say light no.2... is that the Triumph one?
Hi all.. I'm getting close to finishing my project - CB400F but the last challenge is the rear end! Excuse workshop mess - this is not normal.. ha!
I've modified the existing seat and put on a Triumph Scramber rear fender - (this will be painted) I'm reasonably happy with the rear of the seat...
