Le Mans 1 had the calibers in the front too while Le Mans 2 (and SP1000/CX100) and onwards had them in the back. So it must be something with the year of manufacturing.. .and the lower section look COOL with the small engravement. Wish my SP1000 had that detail too
These shocks look really cool!
I'm wondering if they are supposed to be mounted with the reservoir down? My first thought would be to mount them with the reservoir upwards so they are part of the suspended weight and not bouncing up and down with the wheel.
I cleaned mine with household vinegar in about a week. It was pretty clean afterwards.
While the tank was filled with vinegar, I took around 20 M8 nuts and pulled a fishing line through so they were on a loose chain. Then I dropped it in the tank and did a good shake 2-3 times a day to remove...
I don't want to hijack the thread but let me know if I can help.
If you still have the VIN, you can look it up in the public Tag register to see if it's on the road: www.nummerplade.net - VIN = "Stelnummer"
Re: Moto Guzzi
First of all the new ones were tight as I replaced all seals. So it idles way more smoothly than with the old ones but I could probably have got the same result with new o rings and gaskets on the old ones.
I thonk the 36mm carbs make the engine reving better. The pumps give...
I have an 81 1000SP which have been stripped down and converted into a racer style. It's stock drivetrain except 36mm Dellorto pump carbs and lafranconi competizione exhausts. You can see more by clicking the link in my signature
Hey and welcome man!
Nice to see another Guzzi Rider on this site. Looks like you're doing a bit more than just the seals for the moment? What model is it? looks like 850T on the side cover but not sure. Post more photos please, it's always nice to see other men's toys....
Greetings from cold...
It must be thrilling to be so close to fire up now :D
The bushes outside in the beginning looks remarkable green, all our trees and bushes are naked here in Denmark now
Cool helmet, I've always wanted that model too.
I have a full-sized head too and like you have problems finding a fullface that fits. I had good experience with bandit alien though and recently bought a LS2 FF396 which fits at least my head well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mqYwUMRiyg
Very nice and close to the oringial color scheme I think, just with a twist.
I will look even better in spring with bugs smashed out on the front and a few strains of oil and dirt 8)
Good to hear you sorted it out.
Nice pictures in the sunset. And even the closeups are nice, a lot of bikes are best "from some distance" if you know what I mean.
False neutrals is a known issue on 5speed guzzis especially between 2 and 3. I get used to keep pressure on the shifter pedal while...
When I say "shifter arm" I mean the arm attached to the shaft going through the frame from first threaded linkage bar...the one you customized earlier on. Hope its clear
Perhaps you should move the shifter linkage above the footrest too? Thats how it is supposed to work and there will be less items to avoid.
If the shifter arm is made shorter you will need less travel with the pedal too. Right now you are going from a short arm to a longer so the shifter pedal...
It's probably just the drained battery then. My Bosch was worn out when I bought the bike and the relay only clicked most of the time.
As for your gearbox issue: All Guzzi's seem to have a weak point between 2nd and 3rd gear and you could often find an extra neutral there. It feels like you...
Hats off you did the ride with the bike!
As for the starting issue: I found my 1000SP hard to start even with halfcharged battery. I run a smaller battery and I think it's hard for it to deliver enough juice to crank the engine when not at good charging level. Another issue could be worn...
