Skyteam Ace 125 - not registering the key?

The most obvious thing would be perhaps that the new ignition system is wired differently? I'd check the voltages there first. I had a similar, not starting but bump starting and it turned out just to be the fuse contacts had loosened and weren't making contact...a fairly common problem seems to...

    Hello gentlemen

You could always get an old cg125 to mess about with, there is a company in Britain called ooracing that do tanks/seats etc that you could transplant to get a similar look...might be prohibitively expensive though?? There was also a rumour on Facebook group a couple of months ago about skyteam...

    Hello gentlemen

Blimey, just checked the dates...it took this long to actually get the step drill bits...so did some holes, will add mesh behind later and also got a step further with the seat...little locking compartment for a really small tool kit [emoji3] Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using DO THE TON mobile app

Yeah, like the lots of holes one better...cheers for the input [emoji3] I'll do something probably big holes at the front end getting gradually smaller towards the back...the idea was to try and make them look like fighter jet [emoji3] Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using DO THE TON mobile app

    Hello gentlemen

Side panels mocked up...need to rivet some tags and final shaping and sanding. Might do some sort of cut out? With mesh behind or something...maybe too much aluminium...I've still got 1m2 of the stuff left too [emoji3] Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using DO THE TON mobile app

    Hello gentlemen

Been a while, fitted some new rear shocks from aliexpress, they were pretty big so hsd to cut down the chain guard a bit, they are much stiffer/better than stock And new front levers, put a braided front brake line and decided to convert her to hydrolic clutch too, I like the symmetry... Still...

    Skyteam Ace UK

Hi, yeah I heard this on the Facebook group page too...apparently the old beastie doesn't meet the new emissions guidelines? There are a few 2nd hand ones knocking about, currently 2 125cc and a 50cc on eBay...or join the facebook group, they pop up there sometimes too. You could check other...

    Speedometer Ratio

Hi there and welcome to the forum, if you take a look at page 4/5 in my thread below you can see pics of my Speedo/tacho and headlight setup...they were both from AliExpress for about 30 dollars. If you like the look of them I'll dig up some links for you. Before I managed to put in my headlight...

    Hello gentlemen

Had a bit of nice weather so done the oil and clearances and FINALLY managed to get on with the seat, still not finished the upholstery part...going to glue foam onto a piece of left over plywood, upholster that and then velcro it to the seat pan. Made the cafe racer hump into a bit of storage...

    Rear disc conversion

Hi, I know lots of people are after a rear disc conversion set and while I was browsing around my favourite Chinese website I came across these (haven't seen them before) If I do a disk conversion it would be a ways down the line. Posting here more for the seasoned pros to have a look. What do...

    Hello gentlemen

Headlight came a lot quicker than I had expected, had to get some smaller brackets...seems big compared to the original but I don't think it's too big for the frame/bike...might take a while to get used to. It's 6.5" led, can't wait till it gets dark May shorten the bracket a few cm's down the...

    Starting problem

All sorted, when I was putting the new front controls I stripped everything and put in a new battery. Seems the battery was weak and there was some corrosion around the positive terminal...new battery and a quick clean up and she's starting first time every time. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000...

    Hello gentlemen

Finally got the beastie and put back together and working again...basically when I had her apart I rejetted the carb with a 45 and 100 (didn't have any smaller main jet and she's derestricted with a pod). So after all the electrical work tried firing her up and she was sparking but not starting...

    Hello gentlemen

Happy new year to everyone, been a very busy boy, unfortunately not so much on the bike...doll's houses and balance bikes. Got a few days off work now, but the weather has turned to cold so progress is slow. Thought I'd tidy up the front controls. Ordered a load of stuff from China a while back...

    Starting problem

Hey there, when new my bike was pretty feeble at starting and always took a few turns with the stock plug. When I changed to iridium it would jump into life better. Are you running an iridium plug? Stock? It might help to upgrade to a stronger spark Sent from my ONEPLUS A5000 using DO THE TON...

    Starting problem

Cheers for the comments guys...think there are a few wee problems with the beastie, part of the beauty I'll check the grounds, have just got new connectors and switches/LEDs and planned on rewiring most of it so with be sure to check all the grounds and this sounds most likely. Mariner, neutral...
