    1978 GS550 paint colors

Could be "Midnight Blue," #470, but I don't recall it having metal flake. And the stripes are decals.

    '74 CB360 project

Found this dusty and rusty CB360 with only 1,500 miles on it. It had ape hanger bars, extended forks and open pipes. However, it had good compression and little deep rust, so off I went. Tore it down to rebuild as a cafe racer. The idea was to get it as light as possible - ditch all...

    Honda "l'arancio dolce" CB 750 Resto-Mod Project

I got so fed up with the carbs on my '78 (and I did separate them during the rebuild) that I replaced them with a set of round-tops from a '72 (eBay and a rebuild kit). Very simple carbs to work on. I needed new boots, airbox and cables, but now, no more choke cable and easy bowl access...

Anyone know a good painter in the Chicago area?

I haven't used a painter before, but would like to send my tank and seat cowl out for a real, gas-resistant, automotive paintjob. Can anyone recommend a painter in the Chicago area? Thanks!

This is a 1980 GS550, modified to lighten it and sharpen the handling. The engine was left stock, but cleaned up and tuned. The electrical system was upgraded with a Shorai battery, MOS-FET rectifier, and a relay for the coils. A high-flow petcock was added. Many parts were handmade from...

The leather Bonneville seat is from Journey Project, which I think is based in Thailand. Took about 6 weeks to get it. Fits great and is comfortable. Comes with leather dressing. See https://www.facebook.com/pg/OmegaRacer/photos/?tab=album&album_id=772327669553501 The BMW seat is the one...

2017 RNineT Pure with a few mods: Also, I'll throw in my 2001 Bonneville, with a lot of mods. Weighs about 25 lbs less than stock. Pretty fast for a 790:

    Nighthawk 250 cafe build

Here's a build I recently finished and sold. I'd always thought the Honda Nighthawk 250 has a classic configuration and would make a good cafe racer, especially for a young rider. I also wanted to try the new Chinese tanks and seats that are so inexpensive on eBay. The Nighthawk 250 is a...

A nice, unmolested 1980 Suzuki GS550E that's been in a garage for 20 years. Runs like new. I'm going to switch to lower bars and ride it for awhile before I decide what, if any, kind of build it will become.
