    1973 TX750 Tracker

Finished, making the exhaust headers and clamps to replace the hideous manifold took longer than I anticipated but I think it was worth it.

    1979 RD 250 E

Nothing like the rattle and smell of a two stroke, I'm 17 again when I ride it, same gear and left hand hovering over the clutch. My builds are all documented in the link in my sig, unfortunately this site uses a colour almost undetectable for links.

I made this from a bike I got from a scrapyard which was going to be broken for parts.

    1979 RD 250 E

I've had this bike since I was 17 and did a full resto a while back, it's indoors because I have too many in my garage at the moment, I can never bring myself to sell them when I finish.

@Sderbyshire I really like those, I've never seen them like that before on a 550. @CarbsAndCylinders The tank is off a Kawasaki Z550LTD and needed minimal tunnel modification to get it to fit but I did have to reduce the turning circle of the bike a bit by adding bigger bottom yoke stops...

Fizzys are now going for stupid money as are RD's for that matter but there is nothing funnier in my opinion than an overweight 50 odd year old trying to recapture his youth on a 5hp wheeze box moped, as James May proved none of them did 50mph as often claimed back in the day and that was with...

I was the 2nd owner of my RD and bought it just after my 17th birthday, I still have the original receipt for it for £725. I passed my test within a few weeks of getting it (I got a cancellation) and only kept it because I was still paying for it, I'm glad I did now. Since then I've had loads of...

@Sderbyshire, "weather seized" as FreddyTheFatFrog always advertises his bikes, when I bought the TX it was advertised as "turns over" and when I got it I thought it was seized but it turned out to be the starter clutch and me not being fat enough to kick start it, I couldn't budge it but I...

Thanks for the heads up Tim. @ Sderbyshire I made my 400 into a cafe racer and got a few complaints from the purists but I much preferred making it than the job of restoring the RD where I was tied down to making it as from the factory.

Currently making a tracker out of a 1973 TX750 imported from Japan, previous project was a cafe racer made out of a CB400F1 I found in a scrap yard which was about to be broken for parts and previous to that was a full restoration of my RD250 which I've had since I was 17 when I passed my test...
