I received a 270* rephase pin for a XS650. I think it'll be used for the one in my shed. I also happen to have a 750 kit sitting on the shelf.

Pipes are coated, packed and installed. Slowly getting closer to getting it back on the road. Next big thing will be wiring.

Sendcutsend is worth using if you need some parts cut. For $30 I got 3 crank trigger wheels and 2 cam trigger wheels shipped. Parts arrived in less than a week and to size.

    Vapor blasted the side covers.

    PMA conversion.

I recommend a SH775 reg/rec unit. They are spendy new but can be found used for pretty cheap. Polaris used them on a bunch of things so I search ebay for polaris regulator, then look at the pics until I find one that's marked right. Keeps the stator and regulator significantly cooler since it...

    Sumotrack rebuild

New exhaust hanger has been fabricated, pipes are off being coated, and carbs showed up from the UK. Switching to carbs since at some point in the move half way across the country and years of storage the ECU got water in it.

That's why I wanted one. This is an older model, but luckily dynabride still sells all the parts for it. So if I ever need to rebuild the motor I can.

Bought a tool I've wanted for a while. A dynafile, it'll let me do slack belt sanding on smaller tubes. Found it on ebay for $80, which is a good deal since new they are around $700.

Thanks, hopefully I'll have it on the road this summer. Depends on how many setbacks I run into. Went to go to work today and had a flat on my DRZ, and not only did it put a hole in the tire but it punched lots of holes in the tubeless conversion. I wish I could track down who dropped it and...

    Sumotrack rebuild

A little progress. "New" side cover and oil pump are here. Clearanced side cover for the high ratio primary gears. Going to vapor blast it before use. Also finally made the clamps for the exhaust. Used stainless packing strap to make them. Next I need to make the permanent hanger.

I never did find the failed wrist pin circlip. So it's possible.

The engine has been split since it broke. So it's been cleaned pretty well. I just had never pulled the oil pump.

    Sumotrack rebuild

Yeah, not sure how it broke. It's pretty scraped up, but I don't know if that was the cause or an effect.

    Sumotrack rebuild

Well, waiting on parts now. I planned on clearancing the clutch cover for the high ratio primary gears, pulled the oil pump and now I need more parts. Got a new cover and pump parts coming from ebay, I wonder if the oil pump contributed to the failure on the dyno. Otherwise I'm saving up for...

They look good. I know there are clear covers available for the drz, but I see a majority of people posting about them complaining about leaks.

Lol, atleast on a dry clutch Duc you can show it off. Once installed on the DRZ you'll never see it.

Slipper clutches, also known as back torque limiting clutches, limit engine braking. How they work is the clutch hub has 2 pieces instead of being solid, and the 2 pieces have ramps on them, so when coming up to a corner if your going 50 in 3rd but it's a 25mph 1st gear corner you can drop the...

I bought a fancy clutch for the drz400sm. I already have a stroker crank, big bore, ported head, cams and fcr carb, so I thought the STM slipper clutch would be a nice addition.
