You would still need an MC hooked up to the caliper. You could run a remote set up, and run the cable down to a remote master cylinder if you're just trying to keep a cable look up top.

I had the same issue. Bought a used MC from a VTR1000 on e-bay. Works perfectly. Same bore size.

Where did you order your OEM head gasket from and how much did it cost?? I remember having trouble getting it from Honda last time I tried, but I could be wrong.

I'm not criticizing it, I was actually curious about how it's mounted. It looks like the rearset is mounted to some sort of mechanism and I wasn't sure what it was.

Here's another tip for you folk. You can replace the coil with a GM coil you can pick up at any local auto shop. Should be cheaper than a replacement coil and work better. http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=17973
