On the backburner, other projects taking precedence. It's started freezing here so the riding has all but stopped, the work can commence when I have the time.
Looks like a well done example.
The Ninja 500 was the first bike I "did the ton" on and the first valve adjustment I did myself. It's a good motor, easy to work on. A lot have transmission problems. Although it only has about 60hp, if I was going through the trouble of swapping a newer engine...
Drill and fish tape will be your friend.
The Weatherpack type connector would be the easiest route. I have a tendency to over engineer and go for the wow factor, hence my recommendation of the cig lighter.
Fantastic bike. I'm just surprised you went with a standard cafe tail and didn't build your own. Something with matching "knee dents" to the tank and a flatter top would push this thing over the top.
That's something I am not willing to do, lose weight to go faster. If I need to go faster I'd rather get a bigger bike. I'm 6ft ~200lb and like having a sturdy build. None of it is bulgy where it shouldn't be. If anything I should hit the gym harder and gain even more.
There's a PNW riders group from here on FB if you haven't seen it yet. Turns out it doesn't help a east side guy like me to go riding and what not but you may want to check it out. Give me a shout if you head into Spokane at all.
