Re: CX500 minor bob job - Now Missing parts, of course >:(
I had the same issue with electronic flashers and found the only way around it was to get an LED specific flasher. I've got LED's front to back and apparently the current draw isn't high enough to trigger the relay, even in some...
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Forks sealed and table built, assembly soon.
Yep, listen to the missus. I don't even bother getting the boys dressed anymore cause nothing I put together seems to match. :P
I got to work today and killed the engine. I realised there was smoke, coming form under the seat.
I unlocked the seat, ripped it off and promptly put some flames out with my glove (it survived).
The end result is that the plug for the three stator wires is toast (I'll be soldering it this...
I got a chance to make up a mount for the new headlight today:
I also got a front fender off a VN900 classic to mount on the rear. Initially I liked it but I've now had a change of heart. Have also dropped the rear another 30mm.
Below is with a simpler rear fender. Also dropped the...
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Forks sealed and table built, assembly soon.
I wouldn't say all issues were fixed. The mechanical seal is still something to be replaced while the engine is out regardless of year and the later models had an automatic cam tensioner which you still need to keep an eye...
Re: Staffy's CX500 Bobber - 10 June New videos up.
Bought a new headlight today from MR Motorcycles (a bike shop down the road). It's a neat little bates style bottom mount. If I get a chance this weekend I'll make up a bracket to mount it on. I also had a look at a front guard off another...
Nah mate, it's Paul Staffy ;)
Tim I'm always geared up but am starting to think of options for those times you want to visit someone or go out for a game of pool, etc and it's getting on the ridiculous to cart everything around for the night. I'm looking at getting some lighter gear purely for...
I love wearing flannies/flannels/flannelette, whatever you want o call 'em. It got me thinking, are there any kevlar lined ones kicking about? I've had a quick troll of the intermenets and haven't found anything. Has anyone else ever come across such awesomeness?
Re: Staffy's CX500 Bobber project
I started making the plugs for the guard molds today. Or maybe I'll just be lazy an glass straight over the plug then tidy it up with filler. Either way I went and bought a whole bunch of mdf and cut out 16 semicircles of 68 cms diameter. I'll need a further...
Re: Staffy's CX500 Bobber project
I'm gonna use a standard fender with the fender cut off and bolt on a fibreglass fender. It'll be as small as possible whilst still being street legal to avoid issues on the road. Likewise the rear will be within local laws. I've got a pretty neat idea of...
