    Carbon Fiber Triple Clamp

I have a buddy who works for a company that supplies composite materials to the aviation industry. He gave me some scraps of this new product, a 10-ply carbon fiber that's 1/8th thick. He said that it can be laminated up to any thickness. Im trying to wrap my head around problems from machine a...

    Gasolina Jackets, now with armor

There are a lot members who own gasolina boots, myself included. I've been wanting a nice leather jacket and loved their designs, but I want armor. So I emailed Ashley at gasolina, she was my service rep when I bought my boots, and asked if they could sew pockets into the liner to hold armor...

Hub, Spoke & Rim color combo index

I couldn't find any sort of gallery or comprehensive collection of pictures representing different color combinations for hub, spoke and rims. I thought this might be a nice place to collect them and show off interesting options. Spoked-wheel eye candy. Here are some guidelines to make things...

    WTB 38mm angled UNI filters

I can buy them for $18 each with free shipping, I just wanted to make sure no one had a pair just sitting in a box.

    Knee dents on a scrambler

I keep seeing dimpol style and manx style tanks on scrambler cafes. Don't the high pipes interfere with being able to use the knee dents? I've never ridden a bike with high pipes.

    Formula IV

I know there really isn't such a thing as Formula 4, but I don't care. I want to build a car. My father has some history in Formula Vee, which is where I got my idea. I want to build a small single seater car, powered by a water-cooled motorcycle engine. Imagine if the KTM Xbow had been...

    Painting Tools?

I acquired a nice, but used Delta drill press today off CL. It's seen better days, in the cosmetics department, but is mechanically perfect. I'm remodeling my garage/shop area over the winter, and everything will be new and pristine. The drill press has flash rust on it, on almost all the...

    Avon roadrider mileage

Assuming i have a pretty lightweight bike, and i'm average build, and I don't sit around doing burnouts all the time... what's a good estimation on mileage for a set of avons?

    masking engine fins

I'm starting to plan the paint job on my motor, and i was wonder the best way to accomplish this look.... Mask off the edges of the fins with thin pinstripe tape? Spray the whole top end and wipe off the edge with a rag while the paint is still wet? Or paint the whole thing and sand the edges...

    Bake Box

I don't have room in my garage (nor do I have a spare 220V outlet) for an oven for baking parts. I'm not really interested being able to powdercoat at home, but heat curing painted parts would be very handy. I live in Texas, so ambient heat is "plentiful". I'm thinking of building a box...

What's the worst that could happen????

That thread title in a section about tires, brakes and suspension might be a bit misleading. sorry. I just ordered a set of Avon roadriders for my CB77. The stock tires are 2.75x18 (Front) and 3x18 (Rear). The Avons are 90/90 and 100/90, respectively, which fits the tire size conversion...

    Emgo exhaust mount

I've read some horror stories about the mounting box on the sides of the emgo mufflers cracking (under extended vibration from an old bike). Is this a real problem? or just blown out of proportion? Maybe adding a rubber bushing between the mounting bar and the frame might reduce vibration?

    Cutting down UNI foam filter?

I'm having trouble getting the shitty pod filter that came with my bike to mount to the carb and clear the petcock. There's just not enough room for it to fit properly. I stumbled across this pick on the net and it looks like someone took UNI foam filters and just cut them to fit. Anyone have...

    Interesting fiberglass advice

A friend of mine who builds cosplay sci costumes gave me an interesting tip about finishing one-off fiberglass parts. Let me know what you guys think. In instances where you are working with one-off parts or not using a gel coat... "Do all of your sanding and body filler work to get your raw...

    CB77 Superhawk Build

I figured now that I'm at the point where i'm actually working on the bike (i've had it since october), I might as well start a project thread. I got this from a friend for next to nothing, with a title. It was "almost" running, meaning that it had been running and then suddenly became "not...

    monoshock

sorry for the newb question, but other than aesthetics, what's the deal with converting to mono shock? I have to assume that the bike handles better because modern sportbikes are mono shock. I've never ridden anything modern, so I don't have a basis for comparison.

    Early CB77 gauge cluster

this was mentioned in a previous thread, but to avoid hijacking that one i'll throw this up here. For sale - Speedo/Tach for a CB77, it's one of the earlier ones, but they're all the same size. These gauges go from $100-150 on eBay. I picked this up for $85 shipped on a hunch that I might...

Are OEM Reservoir shocks any good?

I have a pretty light bike. I'm wondering if any of the reservoir shocks (assuming they're the right length) from the heavier hondas are any good. Specifically the 750 Magna or some of the GL's. I know they're not going to compare to a brand new off the shelf modern shock with a piggyback...
