    Kerker Exhaust. Will it fit?

I have a friend that is selling his Kerker exhaust header and was wondering if it will fit my '78 cb750F. He said he pulled it off his K7. Also, does anyone know if I can get any muffler for this Kerker header or is my only choice a Kerker muffler? If I do end up getting the Kerker. I'm thinking...

    1978 CB750F Cafe (Poor Man's build)

So I got a 1978 CB750F about a year ago. I've been slowly fixing it up and finally decided to go all out. After rebuilding the engine once and having a very leaky head gasket I had to do it all again. :( Unfortunately I lost some of my pictures on my phone but you can still see them through my...

Anyone know if this tranny has been "undercut"?

I have a '78 CB750F SS and took it completely apart for a rebuild. I was told that my gears might be undercut. Can anyone tell me how this process works and whether or not these gears are already undercut or not? Here are the pics:

    '78 CB750F Engine Rebuild

So after many months of tinkering I finally started my engine rebuild. The reason for the rebuild was the low oil pressure I was getting which many said it was due to crank bearings. I also wanted to get my hands dirty and start learning by doing. By the way, I am no motorcycle mechanic by any...

    '78 CB750F Broken Valve Cover

So I was tearing down my engine for a rebuild and noticed the broken valve cover where I think the air port is at? Not quite sure what's it's called but it's right in the middle of the valve cover. Not sure if it's ok to leave as is or maybe replace/repair somehow. I don't have any welding...

'78 CB750F rattling sound (With Video).

So I recently purchased this CB750F and have been fixing it up here and there. Recently I found metal shavings that stuck to a magnet in my oil pan. The oil filter bolt was rusted on and I'm pretty sure the PO never changed the oil. I recently tried to ride it to work to test it out and got...

Low Oil Pressure on Honda '78 CB750F SS

What's the average oil pressure on these SOHC 4's? As of now I'm getting anywhere from 5-10 PSI at idle, after the engine is warmed up, and about 30-50 psi at around 40-50 MPH on the road. This morning I noticed the engine running a little hot when I got to work.

    '78 CB750F spark problems.

Hi guys, So I recently purchased Dynatek 3ohm coils from DCC along with new spark high-tension copper leads. Set them all up and only get spark from the coil that is plugged into the yellow wire (There's a yellow and black/white wire that attaches to one and a blue and black/white to the...

1978 CB750F SS Idling low then dies.

Hey guys, I'm sure this question has been asked before and searching on the forum has given me so many different answers that I have no idea where to start. I recently purchased a '78 Honda CB750F SS. Since it's purchase, i've had a hard time to get it to idle. On a cold start I have to pull...

Oil Pan Drain Screw Threading is broken!

So after wrestling off the oil filter ( See this thread: http://www.dotheton.com/forum/index.php?topic=46768.0 ) and as I'm going to screw the drain bolt back I start ratcheting it and bam! The screw falls off with little metallic pieces of the oil pan threading with it. Now I'm asking myself...

1978 Honda CB750F Choke not closing off valves.

My CB 750F isn't closing off the butterfly valves all the way when the choke is on. I decided to take my carbs off and take a closer look at the choke mechanism. I think I might have found the problem. It looks like the spring is loose. I tightened it up a bit but it still doesn't close the...

Accelerator Pump is leaking on Honda '78 CB750F

So I took the carbs off and cleaned them up a bit using the Clymer's Handbook. Everything looked pretty spotless inside and I'm sure the previous owner cleaned them up a bit. There's a couple of problems now. 1. The choke spring is unwound so when I pull on the choke lever the butterfly valves...

    1978 CB750F Fuel Tank lock

My fuel tank currently does not have a working lock. There's only a zip tie to keep it closed at the moment. I would appreciate anyone giving me a heads up if they have one for sale.

    '78 CB750F Oil Filter Stuck.

Well it's my first time changing the oil and as I'm about to remove the filter I come across this rusty old bolt. I tried to unscrew it but the damn thing is stripped! I even busted out the gas pliers to remove it but made it way worst. Anyone know of any tricks to get it removed? I don't have a...

    1978 Honda CB750F Throttle/Choke cable routing.

Does anyone know how to properly route the choke/throttle cables. My bone head self forgot to take note of the original routing when cleaning out the carbs. Now I'm not quite sure how to properly route them in. Seems like the choke cable is giving me most of the trouble as it won't close the...

    Compression Test has gone well!

Hi All, I finally finished my compression test on my bike and all is well. A few questions though: My spark plugs are black and dirty I'm thinking I might need some new ones. I'm also stumped as to what this random nozzle is. It wasn't attached to anything at all. Please take a look at the...

    Newbie 1978 Honda CB750F

Hi everyone, Just recently acquired a 1978 Honda CB750F SS on craigslist for 1700 dollars. I really should have payed much less but it was running and was kept in good condition...or so I thought. The engine takes a while to start with the starter button then once it starts it has a deep rumble...
