UPDATE: On the HF true/balance stand. I was having a lot of trouble getting a final "true" on the rims. Would get one area right, go to another and get it right, come back and first was out! Seemed to be random. Was set to go back to using an old front fork, ala xb33bsa suggestion - had done...
The HF balance stand doesn't have very good customer reviews but I went to check it out anyway ( good sale price now ). Told the clerk I wanted to buy it but wanted to open package to check it out since I read some bad reviews about bent shaft and stuck bearings. She said "ok". Rolled the...
These are the chromed steel spokes from terrybangkok2007 eBay. These wheels will go on a Motobi Catria 175cc clone for Bonneville Land Speed Racing. I took the old rim/spokes off the hub, used a fine brass wire wheel on the hub and then rattle can acid etching primer and found a vht rattle...
I just laced some of these spokes to new rims and wire brushed hub - haven't trued the rims yet but very pleased with what I see so far and had excellent correspondence with the seller. Picture attached ( I think! ).
Here is a YouTube video that you will probably find pretty informative!

This is a link in Land Racing Forum that has a list of literature on engine performance that is pretty good...

Looked up the BUB rules and it looks like they just want tires adequate for the speeds you run and leave it up to the owner to make the correct choice. Therefore, no specific requirements like ECTA and SCTA .
Good to go!
Project looks great!
Again, never raced BUB, but check tire rating requirements. SCTA and ECTA require H-rated ( 130 mph ) for anything over 70 mph. And then the ratings go up as the speed goes up over 130.
Keep up the good work.
