    Faired builds

Cheers Tad, Yours looking good as well. Getting fed up of the gloomy weather here in the UK. Most Ace owners seem to be living in Australia now!

    Faired builds

Hi JM72, I trust that by now, you will have completed your faired build. Thanks to Photobucket, all my photos have disappeared, so all my previous contributions and threads are fairly meaningless without photos, so I have now transferred to Imgur instead. Anyway, though that I would reshow how...

    150cc conversion.

I converted mine to the 150cc upgrade and informed both the dvla and insurance company of the change with little effect. bike is insured via swinton on a multibike policy with a yamaha Trx850 and paying £150 for fully compin total which is reasonable enough to be fair. Also informed them of all...

    Tall Rider?

Hi Sam, I'm 6" 3" and I've done over 6000 miles on my Ace in 4 years and have no problem! With clip-ons and fairing, I actually find it more comfy to ride than many bigger bikes that I have had. Mind you, after 2 hours or 100 miles on any run, it's good to stretch your legs to stop and relax!

    Ace race replica complete

Hi Jimmy, The pictures of all your other bikes are a credit to you. My fairing was also sourced from BBplastics, though it took alot of preparation to get it to a smooth finish. Is the front drum brake more effective than the standard disc? It looks similar to a Honda c90 type, which was...

    Ace race replica complete

Hi Jimmy, Excellent work and bike looks very good. Where did you source your fairing from? Is that a Northern Irishplate on it,or a personal one? Compared to mine, your fairing sits significantly higher, as I have my clip-ons set quite low - & Still find the seating position fine, and I'm 6"3 "...

    Uk Riders....Black Plates

Had mine on Silver on black plates for the last 4 years and totally agree that it just look's so much better. Have yet to be stopped, although a few fellow riders have noticed when stopping for a chat. For simplicity, I revert to the yellow plates for mot purposes. pic][/pic]

    Rear wheel

I'm approx 16.1/2 stone (circa 105kg) and 6" 3" tall, so not really the ideal build for the ACE, but find the seating position relatively comfy, even with clip-on's, and totally agree with the weakness of the standard Skyteam spokes as they are woefully weak, and the only cure is to replace them...

    Oil cooler

Looks good Tad - With the oil cooler, does it increase the oil capacity much, as the std engine holds approximately 0.9Ltrs oil, so I guess with the oil cooler installed, it will take 1 lt of oil? The engine has to work hard (Mine especially) so keeping it cooler and increasing the capacity can...

    DTT British ride out

Realistically, the midlands or south / south west would suit me best. Last weekend I took the ACE from Devon to the midlands and back in two days, covering 400 miles in the process, and survived to tell the tale! Apart from having to stop every hour just to stretch my legs (Being 6"3") and fill...

    Rear Wheel Bearings.

I can confirm that both the Bearings Used on the (earlier) 12mm axle shaft are 6301 & 6201 bearings. I replaced mine at approximately 4000 miles with quality FAG equivalents. Job done!

    Skyteam Ace 315cc

Hi Don, Welcome aboard, and fair play for winning the biggest engine in the Ace award (So far) Loving the front brake as well. Please elaborate on your Ace's history as it sounds an interesting tale!

Skyteam Ace to RC Honda Racer Replica!!

Still talking of Harleys, I read this sound assessment of HD bikes and an amusing caricature of the typical HD rider: (Courtesy of Pistonheads) Based on the sound principle of don't knock it 'til you've tried it, I tried it. A V-Rod thing, but I can't say that I took to it. Brembo brakes...

    Help locating Ace Paint

Hi CambridgeAce, Welcome to the fold, and nice to have another UK Ace on-board. Assuming that it is the standard silver /grey colour, courtesy of Tad, when he did his fairing, he had the paint analysed as follows: Kawasaki Grey Ninja ZX12R Code KAW 7E. I can verify that this is absolute spot on...

Skyteam Ace to RC Honda Racer Replica!!

Hi AZD, NO is the answer as there is just not enough room - You can see the problem from the enclosed picture showing fairing in initial prototype stage with the kickstarter still attached. It joins the growing bag of components that have been discarded from the bike since I originally bought...

Skyteam Ace to RC Honda Racer Replica!!

Skyteam Ace to RC Honda Racer Replica!!

Hi Orrible (Pete) I've just been admiring your great pictures of the Salt lake racing- Brilliant effort, and it would be really intriguing to see if a fairing would help your top speed. Certainly, with mine I have the 150cc upgrade it still pulls really well even with the high gearing on my...
