    Well got the slides and floats working. Didn't get rid of all the varnish but they should operate ok. Gonna use a ratchet strap to get them back on when I have a nice day outside. Also found a petcock that fits this tank, now just waiting for a line splitter and I should be able to fire her up...

    I haven't used a polishing tool yet, just some steel wool to clean the pieces. So my best guess is p.o. of these carbs shoved the pins in the wrong way and now I'm fucked. Here's an up close. In the Haynes manual it says the head should be on the right, butt of the pin on the left. Doesn't...

    PO sent me the main jets he'd had in it. they're 125's. seems high, but with the air box practically non existant he must have been running it with carbs unprotected, and with the baffleless pipes, it makes sense. anybody agree?

    yeah i've pretty much checked on all the internals of the carbs, still need to rebuild it with fresh o-rings and gaskets though. my problem with the carbs is that on Jets-R-Us.com, I can't find the right Keihin model
