    CT70 restomod/grom killer

Awesome! I’m probably gonna keep it the stocker, but I’ve heard it’s a nightmare getting the bushings out. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

Yes, your bike is part of my inspiration for this build. I'm keeping the ten inchers though... I'll probably just get the 125... I like the blacked out look of the lifan anyways. Did you send yours off to get mediablasted or dipped to get rid of all the interior frame rust?

    CT70 restomod/grom killer

So... I wanted to use as many original parts as I can, including the rims. I have a couple large sandblasting cabinets at work so usually rust isn’t a problem. What IS a problem is original tires on a wheel that’s been outside for forty years. These things are FUSED. I mean, they might as well...

    CT70 restomod/grom killer

I was thinking a Lifan 125 or a piranha 140 both with manual clutch... I want it to be manageable for people learning but fast enough to be fun for me. More than the 125 and I’ll probably get a new or extend the swingarm ... EDIT: but with the pressure of you degenerates and my tendency to...

    CT70 restomod/grom killer

The frame has some dents that I need to fill in a similar fashion... I’m worried about burning through this thin sheet metal though. Anybody got some tips? I figured the lowest voltage setting and as high a feed rate as I can run without too much spatter. Maybe do just a little at a time...

    CT70 restomod/grom killer

First things first. I want to powder coat everything, so no shortcuts on the frame/swingarm. I don’t really plan on going two up often enough to have passenger pegs, so I ground them off, filled in the holes, and reground. Sent from my iPhone using DO THE TON

    CT70 restomod/grom killer

I have bad habits. Since my first project (which was a terrible example of a CB360 cafe racer) I’ve had exactly 39 motorcycles. This bike is number 34. You know when you drive so far for a craigslist post that you feel obligated to buy? Well that’s what happened here. There were no pictures...

Check the starter solenoid. These bikes don't really run well with a dead battery so that is unlikely.

Btw, as much as I love skinners, I've lately been taking some stuff to twin cities yamaha because they are often cheaper. I still go by skinners for bits and bobs and to shoot the shit, but I've kept the lights on at that place for some really minor work

    Opinions on the CB125...

I run the 15w40 "diesel" type mostly. I run the 5w in my 360, sometimes a mix of the two.

    Cb650 or cb750?

I dearly miss my CB650. It was a 1979. The only weakness I really recall was it was very cold natured, I would have to let it sit and idle with the choke on for ~2 minutes before I could ride. Making this more frustrating was a (in my opinion) poorly designed choke cable routed up next to the...

    Opinions on the CB125...

Just wanted to add, there is nothing wrong with running synthetic as opposed to traditional oil in any situation, as long as it is wet-clutch friendly (free of friction modifiers). I run Rotella synthetic in all my bikes: KZ200, IT425, CB360, GT80, CT90s, etc
