    SL100 fork swap on a CL100

I know the bearings are the same dimensionally. I guess the only thing I am missing is if the axle diameters are the same and if the length of the steering stem will work on the CL100. Any help would be appreciated!

    1948 Harley Hummer 125 Restomod

Alright everybody, there has been some progress. I apologize for the delay but with the holidays and being out of town, my work schedule has taken a backseat for a few weeks. I have yet to document the aftermath of the teardown of the frame but here is what has been done with the motor. I sent...

    1948 Harley Hummer 125 Restomod

That motor looks great. I believe in 1951 they changed to a hydraulic suspension system on the front end of the Hummers. 48-50 used "rubber bands" springer style. Pretty neat setup, can't wait to see how it rides.

    1948 Harley Hummer 125 Restomod

Thanks everybody. The only modifications we plan on are a paint scheme that wasn't available for the model year but was available later on, a real leather seat, and maybe some internal engine mods since the original was pretty weak. Engine was sent out to be completely rebuilt by someone that...

    1948 Harley Hummer 125 Restomod

Just finished up my CB360 Cafe and started a new project. It's a little bit older and little bit different but it should be a fun little scoot when all is said and done. It is a 1948 Harley Davidson Model 125 (later dubbed "Hummer" after a successful Harley dealer). Picked her up in Maine via...

I tried moving the position of the wires but unfortunately its either a wire length issue or the size of the point assembly (not sure if the aftermarket points have the same depth dimension. I plan on making a bakelite spacer for the cover to insulate it to work out the bugs. Thanks for the tip...

Thanks guys. I appreciate the good words. Criticisms (easy now) are welcomed as well since I plan to keep building them. Working on a CL100 now as well as a '48 Harley Hummer. Build threads to come.

    Welding HELP, Please ???'s

Oxy/Gas welding is a great/cheap into to TIG. I however recommend a small 110 MIG unit with a shielding gas for home use. I've got a Lincoln 140 and though I wish I would've gone with a Miller, I really like it.

Scrambler, I used Mikuni VM30's from DCC that were pre-jetted for a 350. I ended up leaning out the needle to its leanest setting. It starts beautifully and runs well. I think I may change the pilot jet a bit but I need to ride it more before I make any assumptions. I heard horror stories about...

    66 BSA Bobber

Dig the idea. Bit like the early indians. Looks like your leaf may be too stiff and most definitely too long. Some guys on this board are great with suspension geometry and will be glad to help you out (they'll probably flame you first but don't take it personal). I hope it turns out great, good...

Composites help please. fucking air bubbles.

If you want great surface finish (pending that the mold is nice) you could vacuum bag it.

The rear sets are mounted through the pre-existing passenger peg holes. No other modifications were required to fit the sets themselves. I hope that answers your question.

I think I may end up making a spacer out of some bakelite I have laying around and get some longer hardware for it. I'll probably just end up tracing the gasket and cutting it out.
