I need some advise to fix my handlebar controls...
When putting the original controls (right side) back on my bike, I tightened the screw to hard and it cracked. Now it is not possible to tighten them at all.
Is there any way of fixing this without having to buy new controls?
Thanks for any...
I was wondering if anybody here has some experience with using stickers to mask of an area during painting. I want to paint my gastank in two colors, where one color would be a 'had-written' name. Straight lines can be masked easily, but for more fine work and complex shapes, I was thinking of...

hi all,
I tried a search on this, but I couldn't find any topics posted earlier. I bought an old gas tank with a gas cap to which I don't have the key.
Any tips on how to remove it?
I kind of failed to keep track of my project in this thread... :-[
So here's an update. This is what the bike looks like today. ;D
It still isn't finished. I'm still figuring out what to do for side panels.I'm thinking of some perforated metal plate or so.
Also, I really need to...
Hey guys,
I hope you can help me out. It seems that my rotor has seen it's last miles and needs replacement. I've found a used one in good shape, but the old one won't come off >:(
I don't have a special tool to do this so I tried with the rear axel (sorry if spelled wrong). Still won't come...
Did you use the same brand of paint for the clear as for the base coats? This could be the reason. Other possible reasons (and i know this from personal failure as well ;) ):
- different types of paint
- too cold or humid when spraying
- sprayed the base coat too heavy. don't be afraid if the...
Both ways will work just fine. If you choose to clear over them, they are better protected againt the elements and will stay beautifull much longer. The factory stickers are also applied before clear I believe.
I followed the steps as described in this post. Just before doing the final (2K)...
The next step was the color coat. I went for 'British Racing Green' metallic paint.
I also put some gold striping between the checkered falg and the color coats:
Time to clear coat it all. The clear coat went on nicely, but I did get the famous orange peel. This means sanding and...
So, it has been a while since my last update. I have been quite busy with the paint. It took a while, but the result is worth all the effort.
Here are some updates on the build.
I've made a license plate and taillight bracket to fit in the rear of the cafe seat.
And this is a view...
So, I finished the additional layer of metallic green and two coats of clear. After lettong it dry it turned out great. I even got to do the striping today.
So all That's left is finishing with the 2k clear. That will have to wait untill sunday.
