Print sticker to mask for painting?

I was wondering if anybody here has some experience with using stickers to mask of an area during painting. I want to paint my gastank in two colors, where one color would be a 'had-written' name. Straight lines can be masked easily, but for more fine work and complex shapes, I was thinking of...

"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

Did you use the same brand of paint for the clear as for the base coats? This could be the reason. Other possible reasons (and i know this from personal failure as well ;) ): - different types of paint - too cold or humid when spraying - sprayed the base coat too heavy. don't be afraid if the...

"RATTLE CAN" BLING! ...everything is here!

Both ways will work just fine. If you choose to clear over them, they are better protected againt the elements and will stay beautifull much longer. The factory stickers are also applied before clear I believe. I followed the steps as described in this post. Just before doing the final (2K)...

The next step was the color coat. I went for 'British Racing Green' metallic paint. I also put some gold striping between the checkered falg and the color coats: Time to clear coat it all. The clear coat went on nicely, but I did get the famous orange peel. This means sanding and...
