You can also convert that bad boy to a 12 volt system, there are some handy threads on this site about it, in the case of the dt it has a separate lighting coil so it is much simpler
Yes, if they don't have yamalube trans-lube you can use the honda HPTRANS or even the bellray gearsaver for 2 stroke transmissions. The Trans-lube is a lighter viscosity and works better on those older bikes for the first few changes.
Running premix definitely cleans up the look of the bike so I can see the value in it, and as long as you run a pretty reasonable oil like AMS Dominator you should be okay for most of the rpm range.
